So as ive been plauging people over the last few days to get the meaning of things ive decided to start a thread of useful info. Plus im bored on a sunday morning too so ill start off with a useful tip.
If ur using ur telly remote or any type of remote control and u think that batteries are dead, a very handy way to confirm is to get the camera on ur phone, as if ur about to take a pic, hold it up to the IR LED on the top of the remote, if the batteries are working u will see a glow coming from the IR . Works because the camera can see the infrared signal that you cant with ur eye. |

Simplistic way of cleaning tarnished silver.
Some tin foil placed into a small plastic container so as to create a cup shape. Put in silver item... cover with via er and add 1/4 to on go backing powder. Stir for a few seconds and leave for 20 minutes.
The tarnish will have moved front the silver to the tinfoil.
Remove and rinse thoroughly and dry immediately. |
