I don't usually comment on anything political, but I do have an opinion. Here are my thoughts on this issue. If the current government had kept us from being financially unstable and we where thriving without the support of the EU I would say yes leave but they haven't. Secondly the countries the leave campaign have said we will trade with afterwards have all told us to stay in the EU.thirdly none of the leave campaign members are in a position of power to implement the empty promises after the referendum. These and many more are reasons I'm voting remain.

Its hard to know what will happen if they leave the EU..the 1 thing I'll have a problem with is Border checkpoints..we had that shite for years..couldn't even go to newry without having your car turned upside down and questioned high and low..the bad old days could only be around the corner..the men of violence will come out in force and these checkpoints will become targets

Well technically it is, or at least part of it.

There's still no sign of an agreement to let Turkey join either.

Leaving will be worse for the UK than staying.

And worse for us too, cos when they leave and realise the mistake they've made,we have to hear them bitch about it.

The hardcore dissident republicans will love it alright.

I buy a lot of paving from the north at present and it's pretty seamless at present. I remember the days when you had to go and get all your customs documents in order in the process and it wasted so much time that it often wasn't viable. Ahh, memories of bringing a load of planters from Banbridge in the early nineties. An hour up and an hour back, plus three hours between customs clearance agents and customs itself. Bollix to that.

Actually, another point on that is that I don't have to pay the vat upfront as it's an intra eu acquisition. I have a sneaking suspicion that I will have to pay the vat if the status changes. I can't get anyone to confirm that for me though so it could be wrong.

Interesting how one views these.

1. I think we haven't done as well as we could because of the EU issues..bickering....demands and inflicted policies.

2. This clearly shows those who say we will loose contracts are wrong...These very people need us and want us so will approach to renegotiate.

3. It's the current government who will start it and there will be others come up to stand when a new election arrives.

I have yet to hear of any proof being put forward in that case yet, apart from the "dogs in the street" knowing. I'm afraid that isn't enough for me, and that's not a defence of Tom Murphy either.

The reference to the change of location was to do with the fact that he's currently in residence in the midlands.

Britain is one of the richest countries in the world, why do you think we didn't join the Euro? Our Sterling is a global currency.

Travel, you're right but we'll soon get used to it again.

You're confusing the eu with the Euro currency and in any case, I remember paying 17.5% interest in my mortgage when we had punts plus we had no idea how much we were being ripped off here compared to other European countries. The punt was no great shakes in its day!

We may be pissed off by numerous aspects of the EU in particular how we were treated in the bail out but in my opinion we're better in than out. We need to elect a government that will stand up to Europe and also one that does not invite US vulture funds in the country but that's taking the topic off on another tangent altogether.

"Anyone who has the choice tomorrow hope they make right decision. Alot depends on outcome. BREXIT

Its hard to know what will happen if they leave the EU..the 1 thing I'll have a problem with is Border checkpoints..we had that shite for years..couldn't even go to newry without having your car turned upside down and questioned high and low..the bad old days could only be around the corner..the men of violence will come out in force and these checkpoints will become targets "

Those check points were to stop bombs etc nothing to do with any customs no one ever needed a passport to cross the boarder.

You didn't need a passport but there were customs posts at all the "approved" roads. Mind you they were fairly relaxed but they could be a pain in the arse at times. If that lovely line becomes the border between the EU and the UK it will need to be tightened up if leaving the EU is to mean anything. Either that or passport between Ireland and Britain

I voted no. I have concerns about the north getting into a position where they can undercut the ROI with corporate tax rates.

Ive a feeling people might have been afraid of change so would have voted to stay in as well. Look at the scots all wanted out then buckeled it. Now they regret not leaving the uk.

I think its an age thing. Older people will have voted out and younger ones will vote to stay - they know no different and as you say, don't want change.

I'm not sure it's quite that simple. Change for the sake of change isn't very enticing.

You know what MM, Mr is over in the UK today & he says that seems to be the main word being bandied around. Most people are saying they want a change.

That's northern, I suspect? The consensus seems to be that northern England will vote to leave. London looks more likely to vote to remain though and the numbers there are a lot bigger. Mind you, the rain in London may have kept the numbers will down. We'll know pretty soon I guess. While a part of me would almost enjoy seeing the turmoil that I believe would happen in the UK if they leave, I really hope that don't as I think it would be a big body blow to the EU

I saw the numbers there from Gibraltar. An impressive landslide but then they're a bit different anyway.

He reckoned the provinces will all vote Bremain, but as you said, with twice many in the South of England the Brexit vote will be lost among the Northern Shires.
