"While you can use watermark pic on kik, fab doesn't allow watermarks..."

You can mark them with your name alright but you can't watermark them. While a normal mark is rather easy to remove in a photo editing program, it's nearly impossible to remove a watermark. |

"While you can use watermark pic on kik, fab doesn't allow watermarks...
It does, all of mine are water_arked with my username.
That's not a watermark, that's just your name over your pic"
It's still marking your pics making them less likely to be stolen id imagine. |

You're obviously lucky to get away with it so far. Maybe because it's subtle and it looks mor like a normal mark. I had pics refused when I tried it. |

I apologise in advance, but I’m a little confused
So you know at least 10 members from here that also have this pic thief on Kik
But they don’t know his Fab log in? Why did they add him on Kik? If they have no idea who he/she is.
The pics he is re-sharing, is he claiming they are he as a cpl?
Were the pics taken from your publicly accessible profile, and if so why are you surprised that they are being re posted, bottom line is this, don’t share anything on a publicly accessible website that you can’t accept will be reposted

After reading that I'm still confused.
Is still hasn't been addressed...why don't you know his fab name?
Very few would add someone to kik without knowing the fab profile. Most would make contact here first before moving to Kik.
If what happened to you happened to me the first thing I'd be asking would be his Kik name.
There are missing pieces of the puzzle here that are leaving lots of us scratching our heads.
Sorry for what happened to you by the way. |

I apologised as I thought I may have missed something obvious that made sense of what you are saying.
The term “Re-sharing” is often used when information is taking from one platform and shared on another. Did the use of that terminology make you suspicious, because I used it to lessen the “crime”?
Images will be lifted, re- shared , re posted or stolen if you prefer, on this site and others and if it causes you this amount of distress ,then only post those that you are comfortable with.

So people should just accept the fact that some weirdo is going to steal their pics and use them in some weird fantasy of passing themselves off as someone they're not, out the freaks that do this and run um off the site... |

For fucks sake, people are in an awful rush to be defensive.
I'll say it again, we sympathise with the OP, what happened isn't on.
What the majority of us are curious about is....and fuck me but it's becoming tiresome to have to spell it out each and every time a discussion such as this arises...
1. Did the alleged suspect just lift their pics from their site without interacting with them? (I'm going with yes as they don't know the suspects fab name) which leads me onto...
2. If the op had no prior dealings with this person, why do they not know what his fab profile is? That's the first thing they should be finding out! Which leads onto...
3. If up to ten other people received the op's pics from this guy, and we're to assume those ten people interacted on fab first then this guy's fab name is known, which means the answer to number two is easy to get.
I'm sorry if this comes across as an interrogation but information like this is relevant to the situation and has been omitted.
OP, help us to help you!! Vagueness leads to jumping to conclusions and lots of people on the forums like to strap springs to their shoes.... |

Unfortunately I can all to easily see how this may happen: personally I've had no contact here with most of the Fab people that have my kik.
Simply because I've joined kik groups that were started by the organisers of m&g's I was going to attend. Unless someones user name is the same in both (a very rare occurrence) I probably won't have a clue who people are. Yes I pick up a couple of ID's from reading other people's posts and from people calling others by their fab ID, I might even ask someone if I get chatting with them, but I'm not going to ask every single person, and even if I did there's no way I'd remember them all. |

1. We had no prior dealings with "alleged thief"
2. If we had no dealings with him, how would we know his profile name?
3. We asked the people who told us about this for his profile name and for varying reasons they did not know it. Some had ideas of it but when we checked we couldn't find anybody by that name.
4. I did contact him on kik yesterday morning. I confronted him and he admitted using our pics. He said he was single male from Galway, and thought it was a bit of fun. He apologised and said he would stop...I left it at that.
. . But. . He didn't stop, and was doing it again this morning and that's when I posted here. . .

If the OP puts any of their Fab pics onto kik, it can be viewed and downloaded by anyone in the kik group the post it to.
So if the OP and this sado are in a group, they can download the OP's pic, and then pass it off as their own to others, not just on Fab but anywhere else as well. And unless he (or she) actually tells someone he sends it to on Fab what his kik name is there's no way of knowing.

We are just warning others of this guy. .There is no need for a big investigation or arguements.. I am sure it has happened before and will again. Yes it's annoying. .but our intention of posting here is just to warn others about this guy. .This is all the information we have. |

He apologised and said he would stop...I left it at that.
. . But. . He didn't stop, and was doing it again this morning and that's when I posted here. . .
"
OP, what is their kik name? Because there's a small possibility that someone here may just know both it and their Fab name... |

It's in the OP |

Thanks for filling in the blanks OP I appreciate it.
And I phrased my second question incorrectly, it should have said "why didn't you ask for the fab name?"
So basically this guy lifted your pics off fab, and started passing them off as his own on Kik.
Sadly what happened is an occupational hazard here on fab, and putting your name in your pics is one way to overcome it.
A learning experience for all. |

Sorry if I was vague. .not intentional and yes you are right. Putting names on pics might stop it or make it harder. We will be doing it from now on.. A lesson learned.... |

"For fucks sake, people are in an awful rush to be defensive.

Im still not seeing how 3. can be true...i mean, surely one of these people who gave him their kik can remember his profile name. Im pretty i know which profile any kik IDs i have been given belong to, unless theyve subsequently left this site of course |

I used to kinda hate when a site water_arked my photos automatically, it was like saying, yeah these are definitely mine if they're eventually picked up by somebody else....i agree with another post up there, why the fuck don't people borrow good pics from someone in a foreign country if they really need to borrow some....the internet has no shortage of really good quality pics. |

I'm one of the people that told the op about this guy. He added my a good bit ago on kik after talking to him here. This is the only place I give my kik so he has to be on here. But like I said he was added a good bit ago so I can't remember his fab name. Can't answer for the others but that's my reason. |
