Retiring from the forum

I have posted about a few topics on the forum about issues I have come through, abusive marriage, exs affairs etc and issues that some of my friends are going through. I'm an open person but I haven't always been, I hid my abusive marriage for over 10 years. I was always ashamed of what was going on and didn't want to burden my friends and family. I thought that by sharing different issues on the forum that maybe it could help someone going through the same problems, who are afraid to put it out there. I have received a bit of backlash about my posts so this will be my last topic  |

Using a public forum is always a double-edged sword. Yes you will get flack from those who disagree with you and you will get agreement too, along with assorted advice, often unasked for as well as the sheer lunacy that some folks put forward as 'humour' which can be ibn very poor taste.
You have to take the rough with the smooth - no other way to handle this.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel you should not post here anymore. I think it's very sad that people who are so open minded about certain things can be so small minded about other topics.
I think you are very brave to post about the sensitive topics you speak about. I do understand why you are feeling this way and I wish there was something to be said that might change your mind.
You should be able to post whatever you like on here (within the forum rules) without the fear of the backlash you speak about.
I'll be sorry to see you leave

The posts have been of interest and have had plenty of humour to boot. Public forums are always going to be a dream for trolls. Keep the conversation flowing. Don't bow down to abuse. Forums will always attract trolls, it's best not to be too sensitive to their opinions |

Aw thanks guys. Maybe I was being oversensitive  to be honest there are more positive comments than negative but you only ever see the negative when reading through the messages and comments. I love reading all the topics and joining in because you get to see more of everyone's personality and wit. Thanks guys xxx |

Well mrs _oupleuncut i agree with misscar dont you dare go from the form . First of all you have the right to speak here if with in the rules. Secondly you have come through so much in your life and to let these fools who cant or dont like what you speak about is turning you back on the strenth you have found to come to this point in your life. Ah i liked reading your posts...cant say i agreed with everything you said but fuck the backlashers...say what you want here...im sure your posts probably did help others and help you get stuff off your chest too...the forums are great but only with the likes of yourself who speak with some cop on...the only thing i dont like abaout them is theres a bit too much tarring with the one brush and a bit many people fond of putting people down...dont retire forever..x |

See this is an open forum and opinions will differ some will challenge ur opinion and others will agree others even delving into the formation of that opinion . Once u can accept others opinion will differ and at times u may even change an opinion ull be fine once it doesn't get personal that's where it goes to pot.

When you put a topic out there it will be discussed, some will agree with you, others won't, it's a forum after all. It would be rather boring if everyone has the same opinion. So don't take comments too personally, toughen up a bit and keep enjoying the forum. |

Mostly hacked by guys.... (Unless it's a female issue then it's by most groups)...the good thing about the forums is that it only represents about 1 or 2% of fabbers...the rest don't use it according to fab stats. So its a very small group who troll as well....unfortunately you don't get to hear from that large group who read but don't comment for one reason or another. They benefit from the god stuff said...so keep it up OP. |
