Hi all just looking for feedback on diets.

Just wondering has anybody ever tried a body transformation?

If so how long did it last and did you maintain your new weight in the aftermath?

Thanks

Whatever diet you choose to do it's absolutely no good without doing regular exercise. I'm a fitness instructor and I'm studying sports nutrition now. The 2 go hand in hand in my view.

From speaking to several people I know who have took part in these type of programsa lot of the transformations that promise drastic results in a very short period of time are due to drastically cutting calories (to an unsustainable level). The people will probably look great come photo time but there energy levels etc will terrible. Nothing wrong with joining the transformation groups as I'm sure its great to be surrounded by people with similar goals etc just be wary if the diet they give you looks like its not enough to feed a small child. Focus on sustainable long term progress rather than cutting x amount of lbs by x date. Good luck.

100% right its all about regular excerise and a healthy balanced diet, by simply cutting out bread you will a massive difference, I have cut out all the major carbs rice pasta spuds ect.. Now I'm always hungry and eating every 2-3 hours and I have lost almost 3 inch's around the waist in about 6 weeks, a typical day diet for me would 5eggs for breakfast, mid morning a handful of nuts and s protein shake lunch 2 turkey burgers and veg mid afternoon 2 portions of fruit dinner 2 chicken breast or steak etc with veg and super would be another 5 eggs, it makes a massive diff to body fat

Quick fixes don't last...

You need to change your lifestyle. I've been working out consistently and eating healthy (80% of the time) over the last yr and a half.. I've lost over 4 stone and I'm feeling healthy and fit. I've more to loose so I'm going to focus on portion control from here on in. Also, avoiding alcohol is essential. Obviously if you are going somewhere special then have a drink but if you want to loose weight you can't be drinking every weekend.

Best of luck and consistence is the key.

Drink is my big factor. Sad reality only drank once since Xmas and complete upper body change. Belly, moobs and double chins all go within two months. I've energy for two sports and the gym. If only I could cut out sugar.

There's a book called 'Eat right 4 your type'. Apparently different blood-types react differently to foods. We've been (loosely) following this for several years and our weight quickly dropped to the desired level, and our general health improved enormously.

It's the easiest 'diet' in the world, as all the foods that are beneficial are things you like, and the ones to avoid are things you don't like anyway. Go figure!

It's proven that cutting carbs makes you slow, a bit dumber and also cuts weight in the ratio of 40% fat, 60% muscle.

Its proven that having a high carb diet gives you lots of energy and with some exercise cuts weight in the ratio of 50:50 fat/carbs.

Why do people talk about special diets, having foods in certain ratios etc?

That is for people like me who spent a lot of hard work building every ounce of muscle that dont want to lose any muscle at all.

You will always lose some muscle, but if you take in carbs, protien, the right types of fat, the right vitamins and then exercise like you really mean it, then you can get the ratio to favour fat more than muscle.

I for example rarely ever take in less calories than the recommended amount. I normally take more even when I am cutting.

Most of my weight loss comes from exercise and keeping a generally balanced diet that is leaning towards more protein.

When I am cutting I exercise twice a day, I do cardio and weight lifting. I'm not even body builder big, but even for my body I am aching most days, and some days I exercise so hard that I pretty much run on empty even though I took in more food than the average person needs.

Anyway, My top tip for someone looking to lose some fat, to just be a bit more healthy would be to pop to argos and buy an exercise bike.

If you are a man, wake up in the morning, dont go eat, go cycle for 30 mins at a pace that leaves you pretty breathless. Then go have a small bowl of oat based breakfast, shower, go to work. Clean up the rest of your diet, taking out stuff like bread, candy, and get your calories to around 2500 cals of good balanced food.

If you are a girl, wake up, go have a bowl of oat based breakfast, then go cycle for 30 mins at a pace that has you breathless and sweaty. Then go shower and go to work. Clean up your diet and try to keep it balanced, cut out candy and bread or anything high in sugar, but keep carbs in your diet. Get the calories down to about 2000

That's pretty much what you need to do.

anyway, bye.

I have lost near four stone with help from slimming world and exercise.

I am still at slimming world and I'm now at my target weight but I'm still losing weight. So I had to set a new target.

I recommend healthy eating and exercise . People think exercise slows your weight loss down because you are toning up but it doesn't I still lost every week . My help to you is if your serious set yourself goals that you can reach , meal planning and Meal prep.

If I'm going out for dinner I'll look up the restaurant and see what there menu is like, so I know what I want before I go.

Good luck OP

Anything is possible if you put your mind down to it.

Thanks for all the replies. I should of been more specific, I meant transformations as in 6/8/12 etc week gym transformations plus their new diet.

Studying psychology part time and just interested to see how it has effected people.

Just to point out, carbs are not the enemy
