Hi everyone. I am currently leaving a job for a new one. Monday is my last day and I am going to send an email with a few sly digs in it for some of the dickheads I had to deal with (I'm the IT guy so I have to deal with plebs).

My question is if u were leaving ur job what would u like to say to everyone before u go.

How.bout stand up for yourself instead of hiding behind emails, what's to say this new job isn't going to be the exact same situation...also I'd go out on the piss with the work people that I like and say nothing to those that I don't...

I would only say positive things or not say anything. If wasn't happy there, I would just be glad to see the back of it, smile with gritted teeth and 'let it go ' in the words of the Disney song. If I did have something burning I needed to say and get it off my chest, I would say to their faces. Certainly wouldn't put it in writing, on an email. I don't really do negativity, waste of my energy. But hey ho, we are all different

Problems I've had I've taken them to the top (managing director) or directly to the person involved. The probelm is that they wouldn't listen until something went wrong and then they would ask "why haven't u done anything about that". Also the digs I mentioned are specific and only the people concerned will understand them.

I will say it again incase u didn't read it. i didn't ask for advice I was just wondering if u had the chance, what would u like to say to prople who made u job shit before u go. FFS it's a hypothetical question.

I actually did that once years ago. My manager was a total bitch and it was only me and her in the office. She treated me like I was 2 and literally felt the need to supervise me out s bloody stamp on an envelope. Anyway she ended up having a hissy fit and resigning thinking they'd beg her to stay but it didn't happen. When it was my time to leave there was 3 other people leaving from different sections so we went for a meal. The big boss asked what my best memory of wirking there was and I said when she went crazy

they all knew she was a bitch and how she treated me but no one ever said anything but everyone got uncomfortable and I was like 'I don't give a fuck she was a cow' and left... So worth it

felt great after doing it

Probably best to say nothing and leave with a bit of dignity and class. A bit of professionalism is called for. Your (soon to be) former colleagues may not have had any but you should.

Leave with your head held high and with your dignity intact.

Jasper is right, nothing to stop your old job/workmates forwarding your mail to your new job. That won't be a good start no matter what way you try and 'lighten' it up.

I work in IT if I want to do anything I don't even have to be in the same country. But I wouldn't do that because as I said I am not burning any bridge's I'm just giving a few people who where difficult (dickheads for short) a few Funny (for everyone else) digs.

look i have no problem going to the boss and telling them if there is a problem. That's what ur paid to do (not very well I'm my case), to improve the company and how it operates but if that is being ignored until something goes wrong then it gets to a waste of time. Also sometimes it can be an advantage to the people left behind because it can shine a light on issues being ignored. For example one of the reasons I'm leaving is because they wouldn't hire enough people to do the job (I was doing the job of 2 pepole.), now that I'm leaving my manager has been able to use that as a way to not only replace me but to get the extra staff needed. So you can help a company by being frank when u leave that way they can make changes to prevent further loss and improve morale. Man u would sware that I said that i was going to tell them to go f themselves, I just said a few sly digs that would be funny to everyone except a few (3 or 4 out of 300) people.

sorry but if u had to deal with them u would understand. Like I said I wasn't expecting everyone to get a bee in their bonnet over something that doesn't affect them. I thought that people may see the funny side but obviously allot of people dont have a sense of humour today.

When ya put up a thread on an open forum you have to be prepared for people to view.it in a different way to yourself, no need to be.getting stressed out its only a discussion, not like I'll be sending ya an email with a few sly digs in it
