I have been (mr speaking)
A bud came over for a chat as his mrs told him it was over so i said we go for a game of pool, imagine the look on my and my buds face when i got home and herself had up and left and left me a cowardly txt msg :/ really not a nice feeling and shows an utter lack of common decency and respect if you ask me. |

Well I can't recall ever being dumped via text but back when I was around 30(nearly 16 yrs ago!!) a good friend of mine at that time ended the friendship after 10 years via a letter which was posted to me......
...... I was pretty devastated at the time I can assure you... It was a great friendship, we did everything together but without the sex, it was purely a platonic friendship.... that was a sad & tearful time of my life....  |

Wouldnt say 'dumped' exactly. But was told by text he didnt want to see me anymore as he felt i was getting serious. Far from it but i knew it was a jealous third party sticking their oar in. However it wasnt that i was broken hearted just disappointed in his actions. Funny part was the man loathed texting and only phoned me (daily i must add , and i was getting serous lol). Amazing how suddenly texting suits.

I was written the most heartbreaking break up letter when I was 20 he was my first true love. Lived miles away cost a fortune to see each other. Understood why after a while, we remained friends until his early death. Then my heart broke again. But to do it by text that's the cowards way. |

By text no, phone call yes. In fairness I was working abroad at the time. We'd been together 4 years, absolutely mad about this one, I was. Ring bought, the lot. I don't blame her though, she had repeatedly told me to stop my philandering ways, that she couldn't live the rest of her life in constant fear of when I'd break her heart again, I assured her I won't, never again, that they all meant nothing and they didn't. (Lust was my oneAchilles heel) but eventually she had to come good on her promise that the next time, she'd be gone and I'd never see her again. I haven't. Hit me hard, not gonna lie to youse, and I deserved it, I'm not looking for sympathy here. Made me put my actions in the past into perspective. Now, if I'm lucky to meet someone who I consider to be as, if not more special as her, I won't make the same mistakes again. Thank you for reading

You know what's worse than being dumped by text? "Ghosting", when people just disappear off the face of the earth (well Social Media at least). You'll beat yourself up wondering what you did to never hear from them again but in reality they were obviously just too cowardly to be straight up about not being interested.  |

Been dumped by text the last 2 times I was seeing someone and both were with no real reason or were not expected. Hence my joining this site avoid all the crap |
