Mr69: Nice thought Grainne.

A young carer I once met (she was 13) told me "Mother's Day isn't gender specific, it's a concept."

Mind blown. Teary hug.

That is true , but usually single dad's get praised from a height for doing that . Us single mums still get looked down on in this country believe it or not . And as for the cooking and cleaning , I worked till I was a week overdue , and because I'm self employed I had to go back to work when my daughter was 5 weeks old . I've done it all on my own with no help from anyone ( her father never wanted to have anything to do with her , his huge loss , but she's heartbroken all the time because of it !!!) , and no other family support . It's been rough , but I know I'm not the only one , and yes there are single dad's out there too . But it's Mother's Day today , not Father's Day , lol xxxx

Ah another day for me to remember the tramp that turned her back on me, but I wish all the good mammys a wonderful day and as a father I know yous mummies don't get it easy, yous are the first becking call between a sick child and a doctor, the woman that hugs her children to reassure them that she is always there for them no matter what.yous are the back bone of the family,It takes a special woman to make a truck drivers wife.

A life where you must be both mother and father while your husband is gone.

When you put your day's work aside, you go to bed alone.(I hope)

Do you eat? Do you live in a house? Then you should cook and clean. There's no medal for being an adult that takes care of themselves.
