Are the Irish more down to earth?

Only recently been looking at the Ireland forum because we're visiting Dublin this month.
My impression is you guys are ,,, hmm,,,well more down to earth/random/less narsassistic than us lot over this side.
Reading some of the humour here takes me back to watching father Ted (which is a massive compliment).

Be careful what you say in Ireland ,, Dont say something like "I,m going to Shift the car" as shift has a different meaning.. Oh and if anyone offers you some craic ,take it as its not a drug.. An if you see a guy you fancy the correct way to show it is by giving the guy a goo kick up the arse ,we love that in Ireland |
