so I heard lately that some people on here will verify you for a fee....it seems phone credit is a popular method of payment.....this just makes a joke of the whole verification thing in my book....I have been asked a few times to verify guys that I had been mailing with but it has always been my policy not to verify unless I meet.... what do others think of this? |

verification is how we know if people here are honest and real players if this is being sold then that makes shit of the whole system . and any one doing this should be run off the site without question ...

"We are here quite a while now and have never heard of anyone being asked to verify for money ."
I have never been offered payment but have been asked..... I refused as it makes a farce of it all.... but recently two different people have told me about the phone credit for verification thing..... bit like selling yourself I guess............ |

totally agree, but how do we find out who they are because in my mind the people doing it for phone credit will not be telling and neither will the ones using it for verifications.... will they? |

Kilkenny, but Dublin is more fun |
Seems that's the way it always will be. I believe most people are good but there's the few who will ruin things for their own gain.
If there's a system to keep the creeps out, you can be sure some people will take advantage of it and find a way to profit. |

We were asked to verif a couple a few weeks ago after just chatting a few minutes, we said no that's not how it works.
Next thing this couple had been verified by a single guy "that the meet the same day they joined" and it's not the first fake account that the guy has done it for.
Hate when the system breaks done like that, the only upside they only hang around for a few weeks. |

That's a good way of looking at it. They're desperate to get verified, hoping that means it's sex every day afterwards. Once they realise that's not the case, they get bored and go back to posting strange ads on craigslist. |

Too much emphasis is placed upon verifications and as a result it will be where the abuse happens....because that is apparently what gets you accepted.
Verification doesn't prove who you are other than that person met you and in their opinion you are a nice person, you meet when you say and look like your photo. You could be anyone in reality...There is not proof of I'd, address, utility bill ...nothing....so its really subjective.
It's naive thinking it's actual proof. I don't use verifications as anything other than a shag list...that's really what it has become for many on here....If it's long then I pass by.
Use your gut feeling...its accurate. |

Totally agree with use ur gut feeling but verifications being a shag list I think not. I myself have an extensive list but if u bothered to read they are social meets as in I met them at a party or drinks night my actual "shag list" as u call it is still in single digits. All a veri does is say u turned up and the profile does outline u as u describe |

To me as a single woman verifications mean a bit more than a shag list. When someone has a couple of proper meet verifications it gives you a certain reassurance that this person behaves behind closed doors however they only contribute to a small amount for the final decision to meet someone. |

I got a mail late last November from a guy I'd never even heard of asking me to verify him because he wanted to go to a m&g that I was attending and the cheap skate never offered me a cent. So I reported him to 'verify' what he was up to and his account was gone the next day. Not sure if that's the type of verification he had in mind lol |

Verifications aren't supposed to 'prove who you are'.
As for the long list of veris, it's pretty easy to hide the summary and just display one or two so in reality you'd have no idea how many they actually have. Or they could delete their profile and start again, similarly you'd have no idea how many they've met |

I agree about some of what you say particularly the gut thing, mine has never let me down...I disagree about long lists of verifications, I have accumulated quite a few in the time I have been on here but many were from socials, or M&G's or repeat play dates.... It doesn't mean that I shag everyone that has verified me..... |

I would not verify someone I had not met. As far as reading other peoples verifications unless I knew someone who had verified them then I would not be fully sure they were real |

Just my 50 pence as a single un-verified guy!!
I see a lot of threads about veris, fake ones can't get ones repeat ones !! Means nothing to me to be honest ... I've had two meets from this site and both with other non-verified users so as such we can't verify (non-veri users can't veri another user!! And for a very good reason aswell !!!!) I've also had two no shows and coincidently both of those were veried users!!!
But I have chatted with numerous people on here and get a feel for who they are. Fakes are easy to spot and I'd like to think I'd have no problem in arranging to meet any verified user after they had chatted with me for a while! I fully accept that especially for single women the veri stats are a guide as to whether a prospective meet is genuine or "behaved behind closed doors" so from that perspective it's a pity there are so many fakes!! But it's intuition and common sense that should be your primary decision making tools !!!
So no matter how many veris, or lack of, non of you are veried in my book - and won't be until we meet and that's the approach everyone should take |

We are yet to find anyone other than OP who has encountered someone asking for payment for a verification. I honestly don't think this is a common issue.
It's also not that easy to get a fake account verified. You need a real verified account to verify a fake one. You can't just setup 2 fake accounts and have them verify each other. Fab also has checks. If the same IP address is used to create an account as the address who verifies then it doesn't work. It's not foolproof but there ARE precautions in place to stop this. |

I was never too worried about meeting non verified people because we all started here as non verified, so we all had to start somewhere....if everyone refused to meeet non verified people it would make this place a sadder place lol.....oh when I think of the verification cherries I have popped on here..... |

yes I agree that precautions are in place but it seems there are loopholes....I posted the thread to see how much truth there is in what I have heard... I was never offered payment to do a verification......it was something I heard from two other site members.... |

I've seen threads about this before, and it was pretty common on another site I was on. Sometimes it seems like there's too much emphasis put on a veri, so new people could be forgiven for thinking they're vital to any progress. As long as there are people like my lovely Layla willing to give newbies a chance, verification isn't too far away. |

I suppose unverified users see lots of organised socials and parties advertised for verified members only so that's probably one of the reasons why they feel veris are vital. |

Yes, I think that's a lot got to do with it. And as some others have said, it can be hard to feel safe enough to meet an unverified person. We all had to be trusted by someone at the beginning, and it's nice to be able to do the same for someone else sometimes. |

They ARE fairly vital. Not that many would take a chance on an unverified newbie. |

They're important, but not exactly vital, unless you're going to meet and greets, parties or socials. Realistically, a lot of new people wouldn't be ready for a party situation anyway, even if they thought they were. |

That's not fab policy though. You can be verified just from seeing someone on cam in the chat room. It really only designed to probe you are the sex that you say you are. |

I don't agree verifications ate a"shag list"!
I've been here a long time on and of and a lot of my verifications like many are from social meets or events. They don't prove who you are, they are to confirm that you are at least the sex you said you were, turned up and give people an impression which becomes clearer the more you get tbh.i don't think they are the be all and end all ,just an indicator. I've never been asked to verify anyone I haven't met or offered payment to do it and nor would I if I was. I only verify people I have met/know and I always try to give a genuine but polite veri...After all manners and courtesy cost nothing..something many would do well to remember . ..Thankfully I have had the pleasure of meeting many FABULOUS people on here.
