(Kinda) Fake pics ....

Just wanted to know other people's thoughts on this ... Maybe there is a thread on this everyday but we are not big forum users ! We met a girl recently for coffee after the usual chat and exchanging pics .... and she did indeed have the personality that came over in the texts we exchanged ! Intelligent , witty and interesting ! The only problem was she was at least 10 years older than the pics on her profile and the private pics she had sent to us  Surely people meeting should have pretty up to date pics ? Fake pics are obviously as issue on here ... Do 10 year old pics constitute fake pics ?? |

Tend to agree that it was probably more a false representation than fake ! The pics ( probably more worrying ) on her profile .... and the pics she sent us were undoubtedly her but feel they should have been more up to date  |

Thete is nothing wrong with applying color filters or light effects...part of marketing. Also choosing an angle for maximum effect. Real estate brokers do this all the time, we still would see the house ourself before buying.
Outdated pics can be out of negligence to maintain ones profile...however, published pics, regardless edited or not...if I see pics of bodies of peeps in their 20s or 30s to turn out at real life to be 50...that could be a little inconvenient and dissappointing. On the other hand, we always also lookup the age of peeps we meet, which gives us an idea to expect a certain amounts of flaws life leaves on anybody...and if the meet doesn't spark sexually cause of the delta between pics on site and reality thete is still a good chance for an enteraining acquaintance beyond naughty deeds |

Unfortunatley I think she might have noticed that "disappointed" look !! Tbh we were being diplomatic when we said 10 years older  But ... She really was lovely ! Great sense of humour and really interesting !! We enjoyed her company !! Just a pity it wasn't in the 90's  |

I seriously wondered about this myself as I am guilty of this myself, our pics are generally of us at our best, as shelisous said it's marketing but do some people really consider this as misleading? |

I think most people only show flattering angles and pictures in good lighting on here. Its kind of assumed. I take everything on here with a pinch of salt and assume nothing until I've seen someone in person for a coffee or drink.
But I also try to represent myself in a realistic light to anyone I've decided to meet socially or physically. Because I think its deceitful using photos if they look nothing like you in reality. |
