How would you classify one.
Clothes they wear? Work they do?
How they look after themselves?
I work with a few guys who never used a grease gun before they started working with me. Maybe it's because they are townies but I was shocked when they said they didn't know how to use basic tools, grinders and welders etc. I'm not saying that they are less manly, maybe just raised different . But shouldn't most men know how to use a spanner?! |

well that depends on lots of things I was lucky to have a father that was a mechanic and also done lots more of diy and passed on a lot of knowledge. Some lads didn't have that luck so rather than putting people into " not a real man" category because they cant wield a spanner or a grease gun maybe think about othet criteria that people could judge your manliness. I don't think using a spanner makes you a man because I know lots of women who know their way around a car it doesn't make them men now does it ? |

My brother wouldn't know how to open a lunch box never mind a tool box!!!

I can weld anything butcher my own meat cook clean and even use a washing machine but to be a real man you have to have dignity and show respect to others |

I'm not great with anything mechanical , if you can't fix it with a swift blow from a claw hammer it's time for a new one !
My father was a chef ,so show me to the kitchen rather than the tool shed. But I get the question your asking

Someone who is honest to himself and others around him, supports others in need and isnt afraid to ask for support when needed himself. Is in touch with his emotions and respects himself and others. And in the overall scales of life does more good than bad. Thats my tuppence im sure a lot will disagree but such is life. |

I see a man as a person who stands up to what he believes and shows morals. Protects what's important to hime. For example his kidson and partner.
I'm a soldier and a mechanic. I don't see myself any more a man than someone who can't tell the difference between a glass hammer and a long stand. |

A real man? There's no definitive answer. Qualities required would vary from woman to woman, man to man. If it's a long term partner or husband. Then I'd say regardless of skills. It would probably boil down to this.....he makes me feel home. He makes me feel safe. He makes me feel proud. He makes me feel like I am his universe. That's a real man. |

It should. although many people have many reasons for cheating. I wouldn't judge in that area. |

I have to say I agree. I'd add in - he will find new hobbies that interest his children and work with them rather than doing what he wants, he is hands-on (can fix things and dismantle things and does DIY) and not afraid of hard work when it is needed, he respects his partner, and has absolute loyalty to his friends and family. |

I think this is one of those situations where beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They are things that are important to me - the DIY thing because if you let me loose with a hammer you'll end up with holes in the plaster rather than nails in the wall |

To me a real man is someone who takes no shit stays true to his morals and beliefs, a protector someone who stands up for the weak,and lastly someone who isint afraid to get their hands dirty and bust a sweat just my opinion tho |

A real man to me is someone who's not afraid to get his hands dirty if the job requires it. Not afraid to stand up for someone's beliefs when those around them question. Show his emotions when it's all he's got left to give, protect those that are vulnerable around him. It's the respect that is shown to him and is given back unreserved. It's not what his job is, how much he earns or even how he dresses. It's how he treats another fellow human being the respect and dignity we all deserve that's shows if
