Just wondering if you take the time to write a mail ... not talking about a 'what about a fuck one' but a proper well scripted one. Does anyone else think it's rude not to reply. How long does it take to say 'no thanks'

Some men on here just use the method of "copy and paste" to mail women here and they could be sent 100 mails a day so a genuine mail can get lost in that bulk and deleted doesn't mean they don't wanna chat with you at all. |

Yeah I’ve got a ton of these too, I understand the reason as I’m married and that comes with the territory, we also have to consider that for every girl there must be 102 to 15 guys and if you don’t stick out then it’s easier to delete. Also I see from updates and profile messages there must be a lot of cut and pastes, if you can’t be original what’s the point?
I also get a lot of emails from guys asking but I am respectful and reply with no thanks. I guess that’s the rules of the game on here! Not complaining though it was my choice to join. |

I'm talking about a mail been opened and deleted straight away, I understand fully that women get bombarded with mail here and have no issue at all with bulk deleting messages |

I had the same problem and I asked for advice and the best thing I was told is make yourself stand out from the rest of the thousands of males on fab. It's a swinging site so don't let a mail being read then deleted get to you there are other ladies out there that will reply to your mails. I for one don't think it's rude maybe they don't know how to turn you down without sounding like a #itch for doing so |

I don't think its rude.. sorry op  , its just a case of not having the time to go through all the messages and unfortunately some really nice mails get lost . there are so many hi , wanna fuck or I'm in your area messages bulk delete has to be used

I try to reply to most mail I receive even if it is a no thank you response. Then I'd receive a reply asking me why not or worse again, abusive mail because I won't meet them. Thankfully they are the minority. If you were on the receiving end of some of the emails I've received it may just alter your opinion.
People have different reasons for not replying which does not make them rude in my eyes. |

I reply to all first mails received. I tell them I'm not looking, I say that's why my profile is hidden. They usually reply saying thanks and leave it at that. If they persist, (almost all stop), then I don't reply again. I've rarely had abuse. I think I've only ever blocked one person, maybe two. I have a lot of filters, so I get very little mail. It's easy for me to reply. |

That's not a rule it's a personal choice but I'll side on the side of being polite. I do on the other hand totally respect you making the choice to blank someone because of their looks.
I'm also certain that many of the people I chat with here might not consider me attractive but still have it in them to take a chance at having something resembling a decent conversation. Oh well, each to their own I suppose |

Well seeing as (not me) some copy and paste and can be a reason to not reply.. Then maybe the people who didn't reply previously even copy and paste a "no thank you" Hahaha. If you've time to open it then you've time to paste a no thank you. Just an opinion, all have different reasons but I think if you genuinely think it's not rude to open a mail and not reply then we are clearly a race on the way down, don't forget the person who mailed you took the time to mail you  haha

Personally I try to reply to everyone, usually to say I'm not looking to meet men. And yes some people will say I should put filters up but as my profile states in the first line that this is the case , is it not rude for a man to send me a message when it clearly says that that's not what I'm looking for?? That being said I do still reply to these people and sometimes it's not worth the reply as I end up replying to 5-6 of the same person continuing to want to meet in one week and then being abused because apparently I'd be in the wrong for not changing my preferences for them.
I completely understand why people don't respond to the messages of someone they're not interested in as you don't know who's going to get abusive if no is said. People you reply to can also get get past filters if you decide to put them up at some point plus there's also the added element that we're not all sitting here waiting to reply to mails. At the end of the day we're all here for our own reasons and look for people within our own preferences, it just so happens that everyone needs to have a thick skin, and if you don't get a reply it's a no as per site rules. |

Hey said I'd just share my view on all of this.
I've been on this a while now, and it hasn't changed at all, if anything it's getting worse, I've noticed that if any new girls or couples joins this (mostly younger people) they get bombarded by hundreds of messages and that's why they just do bulk, until there on this for a couple of weeks, but people that have been on this for months have no excuse, I've messaged people on this and 95% of time my messages just gets deleted straight away, and 5% they reply but stop messing me, there's just to many stuck up picky girls or couples on this, they all think that there gods gift
and and know there will be hundreds of guys messaging them, and from there they have plenty to choose from, but don't even reply a simple no thanks, they got the power and there's just way to many guys on this and very little girls on this so it's impossible to chat to anyone, it's just one big competition and if your lucky enough you just might win. |

its not abuse its reality, why should people reply to every message, most people have written on their profile what they are looking for, but yet get a multitude of messages off people who obviously haven't even taken the time to read the profile, here's an example of a message we got yesterday , hi, I want to fuck use...and believe me we get something simar to that on a regular basis, now if someone has read our profile and puts some effort in we will reply, which then usually leads to them sending some abuse and blocking us
Also do you think its only single guys that don't get replys? Trust me its not.... |

My faith is restored on the site....I sent a few messages last year to a polite lady....we met for a coffee some time later...Went our separate ways....12 months later the lady sees my profile again and after I made contact....she agreed to meet. I cant say enough about this lady...WONDERFUL....KIND...SWEET...CARING...and GORGEOUS....
Fab is a great place...and yes I feel I won the lotto...

Funny I thought the abusive would have come sooner .... well done sir / madame its not abuse its reality, why should people reply to every message, most people have written on their profile what they are looking for, but yet get a multitude of messages off people who obviously haven't even taken the time to read the profile, here's an example of a message we got yesterday , hi, I want to fuck use...and believe me we get something simar to that on a regular basis, now if someone has read our profile and puts some effort in we will reply, which then usually leads to them sending some abuse and blocking us

Ah I understand fully and to be honest I'm not whinging and I do get some very nice replies and have chatted to singles and couples alike....The site gets brought down by morons sending the mails as described on this thread...and it does make it harder for everyone else, but sure if it was easy we'd andll be doing it ha ha |

I only reply if I feel like there was a effort made. There no way I am going to reply to everyone that messages me as it's impossible as we get loads of messages a week. And as the rules states in the faq no reply means not interested . Tough why should I waste my time replying to people who obviously haven't had the cop on to read my profile and send me stupid messages. That's just my opinion and I am not going to change the way I do it at all |

It is in the guidelines that no reply can be taken as no interest.if I message someone and they don't reply I simply take it that they aren't interested but i wouldn't take offence ,it's saving both parties wasted time or effort tbh and in all honesty yes there can be a lot of mail sent to people so they simply won't see them all /have time to reply to them. I used to try and reply politely to people and still do when I have time but if they aren't someone I might be interested in meeting /chatting to or they clearly didn't read profile etc I tend not to anymore as what would be the point? Sadly I have found the polite no thank you can often lead to a "why not " reply followed by the less savory message, obviously not everyone does that. Afer time on here you simply just ignore/delete etc

I only find it rude when people have on their profile to include feckin banana in mail header and a list of ridicolous criteria before mailing.
You do this and then they delete. These are the only people who dont reply who are being rude.. |

Well honestly I always delete without replying when single males message us. And if I have opened the mail, I will always mark it as unread then delete, just to piss off guys who haven't read our profile as it clearly states we aren't looking for single guys.
I couldn't be bothered type the same old "sorry, not looking for single guys" response a million times when they'd know that if they read our profile. |

I'll retract a part of an earlier post because even though I did read the forum/message rules I don't remember the part about no reply means no which is fair enough. I also totally understand that it's a pain in the ass replying to countless blobs/blank profiles and I certainly don't have to deal with the number of mails that female members do. That said with the 2 or 3 mails I do get a year It's not a big deal for me to reply. As for building a bridge, I prefer swimming

As of now we have 253 mails too go true not a chance would we read them all we do bulk delete mails from time too time but it's hard too reply too everyone just think about op there's tons among tons of guys doing what your doing on a daily basis our inboxes get full up failry fast failry soon |

Ive accidentally opened mail by mistake..another *HI* *where you from* *how you like FAB* and more often than not the message is just an av or dick pic and profile is vapid, vauge or boring!!!. Ive also opened profiles by mistake. I Delete Unread when I want to. Ive also accidentally deleted mail I wanted to respond to. Guess what. It happens. If your getting deleted way more than read and responded...ask YOU why...not THEM. I dont internalize any BS feelings because they didnt get the response THEY wanted from me. Call it harsh, rude whatever you want. Not my sorrow. Into the fuckit bucket. |

I do reply back fairly often apparently (checked my 'sent' mail and there's lots of replies to first messages, to my surprise), but still, most of the time it's abuntantly clear they haven't took the time to read the preferences in my profile, so it seems fair (filters can't block guys pretending to be straight from messaging me, for example).
And as has been said, lots of guys get snotty about being turned down (it's never anything personal, we don't know each other!) or ask 'why not' or 'can we still chat' etc.
Another reason is women and TVs sometimes get more messages than there's time for and replying to each one would take a chunk of time out of their day - really, nobody's contractually obligated to reply to everyone - it sucks the fun out of the site to spend most of your time here typing "sorry not interested, but thankyou" instead of enjoying everything else the site (and whatever else you'd like to do in your spare time) has to offer.
Short answer. No :P If you're not getting replies, make sure you read the profile of people you're about to message, avoid "how r u lets fuck", make sure your own profile is interesting, etc. Thousands of threads on that.
I still personally would never bulk delete unread messages though, for risk of losing a message from someone who's actually serious. Seems a bit excessive, regardless of how much mail you get. But everyone has their reasons, eh.

Open your email box and find 20 new messages a few times and it wouldn't take long before you too would learn it's a necessary rudeness, unless of course you can afford to pay someone to answer every mail.
Also the longer you are online the more mails you get which means even more work......the minutes can easily become hours! |
