Just had a guy accused me of having no sense of humour because I didn't think it was funny that he said "where you from? Stab city? " . Sorry but am I wrong to have some pride in being from Limerick? Surely people are more educated about the city now??am I wrong? Or is he right? N ive no sense of humour

He did not seriously say that did he? No wonder women here are put off by single men...total lack of manners and respect...

Bad joke and wild generalization about Limerick..in fact one of nicest town and best university campus I ever visited...

...your sense of humor and you are perfectly fine, just ignore certain people..

That 'tag' should be well gone at this stage .. Limerick had its quota in the past of stabbing, but tbh I'm sure it was overhyped to divert the attention away from what was happening elsewhere .. I'm a proud Dub, but I'm very weary of heading into the city these days .. Violent crime has gone through the roof !!!

Limerick

I remember many moons ago on a weekend away in Galway. A guy asking where I was from. I was so sick of the stab city response. That I said it instead. Shut him down straight away.

And no you're not wrong to have some pride in our city. We've come a long way since then

I lived there for a few years and I honestly never felt safer in any city.

Limerick is a great city but same as all city's has its rough element too that can shine a bad light on it same as every town and village in the country

Where was this guy from because I bet where he is from has its share too

That was his attempt at a humourous chat up line...not intelligent enough to think of something original to say!!!

I'm trying to remember if it was Pat Shortt who said it was very unfair to call Limerick "stab city" as there was a many people shot as stabbed these days.

Personally I think you're taking it too seriously but maybe that's just me?
