Erotic Photography
Jump to: Newest in thread
Ok guys first of all this is just to get the general peoples opinion please don't
take it too serious!
Having falling in love with the Camera and studying Creative Media being on this site I find myself constantly thinking of being an Erotic photographer on the site, would this be something people on fab would be into having someone capture their fun moments(Excluding Face off-course) or is my head going too crazy?
Comment your views below thanks! |

Hey man, I'm sure many on here would like that, and I wish you the best of luck if you do try it.
Here's my thoughts on the subject
If it's just for fun between friends, cool, but if you're thinking something a bit more professional there's a few questions you might need to clear up first.
If you get up and running, will you be a photographer providing erotic photos to people as a service or will you want to mix play in too? Can you stay hands off if needs be?
So leading on from the above point, if you do go down the photographer route, are you going to incur the costs of travel, hotel, lighting or is the model?
Who owns the photos afterwards, copy write?
Would you take photos of men? Gaymen? Bi Tv etc etc.?
What about the time needed to sort, edit, upload, email, it takes a lot of time! Can you afford it?

" There used to be a guy on here doing erotic shots for people(he did a good few for us).How he worked it for us was we brought our own camera card and he would use his equipment in a small studio at his home.and hand us the card after he was finished but as we got to know and trust each other more we'd usually just leave the pics with him for him to sort out and he'd email on the best.He never looked to play,he was a keen amateur photographer getting into erotica and it was all about the pic for him.Still mates with him but he moved far away but he'd still come down and do the odd one for us. |

Jeez A man you are almost making me reconsider! lol nah am leaning towards the professional side of it and i dont plan on involving myself in the play all else it was originally discussed before had
the cost will have to be discussed taking notes of the things you mentioned yes
Copyright would be who ever hired me off course but i would probably leave my watermark on the photos if they are ok with that.
At the moment yes am open to taking photos of everyone no one excluded.
and finally!! i have done some normal photography work before covering events so i do have an idea what time it takes
like I said this is something am curious about at the moment just checking if people will be interested before i make the final decision. |

That's pretty sweet, he was doing it for the right reasons and in the right way. His work is really good and you guys played your part perfectly too, they are impressive pics. The card idea is good but it hampers any post editing, and lets face it, you almost always have to do some editing. |

I don't want to knock your enthusiasm, but the pics on your profile are not really impressive especially when you compare them with the lovely sexy pics of p&e.
I think your own pics is where to start your enterprise and let us see if you have the talent... |

I've seen amazing pics taken with phone cameras. I agree it's not that easy to take a good shot with yourself in it, but with a big mirror, a tripod and the timer option you can achieve quite a lot.... |

There are several professional photographers already on the scene. One used to shoot fashion for the Sunday press for many years. Look at the pictures of Nice Marmot for what can be achieved on here (infinately better than shots of close ups and remote controls). Perhaps consult them to see if there is an actual market for your services.
Enjoying what you do and using it to expand your contacts is probably more likely than using it to get a play date.

I took all my own pics, fair enough I've a good camera, tripod and timer which helps, but the most difficult part was thinking up 20+ different scenes, the rest was fun, playing with the lights and props, posing, I enjoy the process and I hope it shows in my pics |

This is an interesting one as I have been into photography for years and have shared some of my private work with some friends here.
Its a great idea for those who trust the photographer but trust is the issue as very few are capable of getting the shot people expect without doing some minor editing after. The few shoots I have done for friends from this world I always just give them the SD card and I can suggest edits after if the are confident enough to post process or I bring my laptop to do a some quick edits.
It is an absolute must to have a written contract regardless of who takes the SD card. I hope this works out for you as I think there are some amazing people here with ummmm not so amazing pics. Good luck |

A written contract, great idea! And I totally agree, there's some absolutely awesome people on here who just aren't good with a camera so there's a space in the market that could be mutually beneficial to all.
TBH it's something I also would love to do, I've got the space, equipment and the know how, if the right person came along I'd definitely consider doing it. |
