After spending $20k on speech and various other therapies my son telling me he hates me and to get out of his room doesn't sound good but there was a time I thought I'd never hear it

I look after a special needs child and I know you would have spent that money ten fold just to hear him say those words.

Well that was in a year but I'd say I've spent around $100k so far.. And that is $ as I was living in America for a long time. Best move I've ever made

I have had 5 moments of truth all of which were being present at the birth of my kids and holding them for the first time. Am not ashamed to say I shed a wee happy tear each time.

Everyone seems to be very baby focused on this thread so I'll say 'the day I looked at my stressed friends and realised I'm delighted I don't have kids'

Hugs to all of the above child-related posters. I am so lucky to have healthy children and easy pregnancies.

My best and me-proudest moment however was getting my driving licence. My mum died in a car crash and it took me many years to pluck up the courage. Best thing I have ever done.
