I'm considering getting a tattoo, but I am at odds about what to get and why, does it have to have meaning or just plaster yourself with what ever feels appropriate, any advice or suggestion?? |

Get something that you like and means something to you. You'll be looking at it the rest of your life (unless you can afford laser removal) so its not something you want to look at and go "why the holy guck did I get that" |

All of my tattoos have meanings behind them.
Get one that means something to you personally.. dont just pick one and get it done because youll end up regreting it |

Pick wisely. Spend time on what you think you want. If your going for a design by the artist take a photo of it on your phone and spend time looking at it. If after a few weeks it still looks good to you then go for it.
M worked as a tattooist for a bit when he was younger. He's told me some scare stories.

Think where you want it! Cause if you later will regret what you have you always can do cover up or laser remover..
I have all tattoos with big meaning for me, but because of one (I still adore it of course) recently had small accident because of it meaning , which when I was getting it never though about as most and all was important what it mean for me :D
So yes.. think twice before do |

Remember that as you age so will your artwork. Tattoos are like people. Some don't age so well.
Age+gravity=droop.
Also remember the location. The singer Cher had a tasteful butterfly on her hip but after years of face lifts she now has it on her earlobe. #MadeUpFact |

Pmsl,I'd still wouldn't mind having a night with Cher work done or not ,she's so funny in her interviews and in her live shows on utube.I'd be so enthusiastic it would turn back time. |

Considering, not know what or where... Stay clear.
When you know what and where then consider. |

Finding a reputable and good tattooist has to be paramount in your considerations.
Then pick a design that means something to you or design your own.
Think of where you want it as the levels of pain vary considerably.
Also think about how visible they are as some employers frown upon tattoos on hands, face and neck.
After all this then go for it!! I love mine and never regret them.

We've been informed that Cher has read your comment and is currently at her plastic surgeons getting a slightly amused expression installed on her mush. |

Do your research first, there's no rush! Find a reputable artist who's portfolio matches your personal taste. Decide why you want a tatt then decide if it needs to be a piece you want to have meaning or just look cool to you.
2 of mine have meanings, one is a coverup, one is just because I fell for it when my artist was drawing it up!
The most important thing is not to let anyone else influence your decision! |

I have a few now and not all of them have meaning, some I just love the style of.
The one thing I always did was play around with an idea for a particular tattoo for a year or so and really thought about the placement. Then make sure you go to an artist that will make a beautiful job of the style you want... and just go for it if you want it!!
I imagine people regret the things they didn't do when they had the chance moreso than the chances they took in the first place.
