The marriot in the centre of town is fantastic. Reasonable too. There is a desk in schippoll airport that can recommend accommodation based on budget. Thats what I did. Flew out and got room there. Worked out much cheaper. Especially midweek |

I was there about 5 weeks ago with my partner and stayed in a lovely hotel called art hotel dulac. Staff were so helpful. Rooms were really nice and a huge glass walled walk in shower. Perfect for fun.
It's a 20 min walk from the train station and maybe a 5 or 10 min walk from the madness of the red lights. It's on a lovely street with loads of nice places to eat and some nice shops, very safe. I'm deff staying there again next time we go back |

Look at Saint Nicholaas. It's near ground zero and just a wee bit unusual. Smaller hotel but very nice. 5 minutes from the station and 7 minutes from the red light district.
If you like Chinese food try Naam Kee. Don't expect politeness or poshness, just good food. |
