Looks to me that this site is shall we say insular. If your not verified your an outcast..I like being an outcast...join me if you agree and out with the old and in with the new. This site is not for a select few...

Maybe our newish member Charlietin didn't express himself brilliantly....but nonetheless his point is valid.

Naturally certain groups establish themselves here in Fab, that's natural we are social creatures and and drawn to people of similar interest. But it can be hard to break into these groups. It can. Even when you are genuine, respectful and polite and persistent. You certainly wouldn't want to take rejection or being ignored/deleted personally

Having been on fab as a singleton for 10 mts or so and having previously been here as part of a cpl, let me tell you it's 10 x times harder to make your way and establish yourself as a guy. In fact scrap that..... It's 50 x times harder.

Now we all know why this is, due to the numbers mix and the fact that some guys here fuck it up for the rest.

But think on....Be nice to the genuine single guys the rest of you boys and girls. It's tough out here.

In all fairness your comment came across a bit snippy and you haven't really been here long enough to find the flow of things. There are a lot of decent and fun people on here couples and singles. Better to be polite than snippy. .is not a nice attribute tbh...and you will get further with the decent people

And as Stanley said certain groups establish themselves here on fab,however it was uncalled for on a social thread where everyone is "supposed" to be socially welcoming,instead they copy n paste each other and "freeze" everyone else out!

The best way to get meets is by building a reputation. People who are unverified are a dime a dozen. Why would anyone choose 1 unverified person over another? You need to stand out for the right reasons.

How to build that reputation is up to you. Maybe you should shoot for a local coffee meet, maybe you should aim to get to one of those nights that are open to unverifieds. Watch the forums, go into chat. Travel if necessary.

Be polite and respectful in all your communications PARTICULARLY those in public (forums or chat). A wrong step here and you may as well remove your profile and start again.

Plenty of singles do very well. Its not impossible, it just takes the right kind of time and effort.

Its not wrong. Parties and social events are advertised on the forums. You will miss events if you don't keep an eye out. Events for unverified folks to get verified do happen, but you won't know about them unless you look. If you logon to chat and get yourself known as a decent person then you could pickup a meet from there. It happens, I've seen it.

A sense of humour goes a long way too.The attitude of a sense of entitlement and moaning from a bloke is so immature it must be the biggest turn off for women.It's good to remember that there are about 15 women to every 85 men approx,of those women a fair few are here to explore their bi or gay fantasy so for a start your up against that,as has been mentioned you have to put yourself forward and stand out from the crowd.That may be some personal attribute that sets you apart from the rest ,like being hung ,buffed,tattooed,have a particular talent in the bedroom,an attractive demeanor,a good looking face etc play to your strengths and be patient and respectful even if it only leads to a platonic friendship.

I know this site for few years with breaks. This is my longest profile I ever had! And only last december first time I opened forum as got private msg with invite to social and it was like wtf is that?!and bigger wtf what is forums?! :D (so yes a lot people have no clue about parties and social even excist)! Some people might find the chatroom a bit fast sometimes or it doesn't suit their personality,sometimes the forums can descend into mayhem but it's a good indication of how someone can handle themselves in a conversation.I use the "notes" function to keep track of the people I have no interest in,those who have made a holy show of themselves or are just narky types.

From my own point of view,I find the blind messaging thing difficult,even moreso when I get mail from a girl showing an interest in me,yes blokes do actually get the "wanna fuck" type messages,okay a little more elaborate than just that but it immediately puts me on the back foot,I think to myself "eh,why?,we've never even chatted,I've never seen you post in the forums nor seen you banter in the chatroom",the best I got recently was from a woman saying that she wasn't into smalltalk or messaging over and back.So the expectation seemed to have been that I would travel,get a hotel room and perform like a circus animal no questions asked,needless to say I didn't take that any further.

Id actually take it further and say that its VERY unlikely you would ever be yourself on a site like this. Peoole choose the parts of themselves they want to reveal, and hide/fake/embellish to make themselves more likely to get what they want.

I'm saying make the most of your strengths and don't dwell on your weaknesses. I certainly wouldn't go so far as to say 'do whatever it takes', although it wouldn't be unusual on here to meet people with that attitude.

I'm the same here as I am in real life apart from the initial first time meeting face to face where I am told I am a little more withdrawn but that's because I'm respectful and allow the other person time to relax and talk about what they want without interrupting.I've been told that I have a bigger online presence than in real life too.Oh and I'm affectionate which again is impossible to tell online.I don't put on any airs and graces nor to I act a role and pretend to be someone I'm not.Honesty is the best policy,I'm here to play with a person whom I am attracted to not my fantasy projected onto someone who happens to look like someone I want them to be.

That's very admirable, and having met you, I believe you completely. Its not they way a lot of people approach the site though.

That ull have to contact admin for as to how many open the forums but after four years on here and having met many that have never posted I'd say its a very high number that lurk but don't post. From that they them selves forum opinions on people that do post and choose to meed,avoid,fuck or block

Yea you can. When you only have a few words to go by, if one guy is displaying aggression and the other is typing sometimes warm and interesting I think of would be fairly easy to choose which you'd rather meet.

In my experience you can get a fairly good feel for a person from chatting. I've had more than 1 meet from people I've met on there. Its very doable.

It might be putting on an act, it might not. The effect is the same.

I find the forums is the best way to get a feel for what people are like. If it's in them to be rude or nasty then they usually let it show here.......

Ah I don't think you see what I'm saying or your twisting what you said to suit yourself. Your original post suggested no one reads the Irish forums. I came back with people who read them don't always post ie lurkers. I pointed you to the social thread with the post about 200 people going. According to you about 100 profiles post on the Irish forums so ill take into account say roughly a third are couples (not exactly that but just for example.) that's 66 people. Say another 50 male and females. That's just over the 100. Not everyone who posts is going so say its less then a 100. Explain where the rest of the people who are going came across the information about the social if they didn't read it on the forums but never posted??

Also this is an international site with Ireland having its own section on the forums so you saying forums could be taken as the forums as a whole. There is about 13 different sections after all. The divil is in the details
