Just looking to gauge the opinion on this shameful play acting in our national sport. A grown man throwing himself to the ground after having his hair touched. as a gaa fan and player I think it's very sad indeed |

Only a tosser I would of giving him a reason to be on the ground if I was on the same team as him or was playing against him. |

He looked moronic but you still can't touch a player like that. |

"God he is hot tho...
He is a hottie, he can dive on me anytime, I will glady pull him down.
Aye, but would you pull him off though for the diving ?"
A lady never tells. |

It was fairly pathetic to watch but players will do whatever it takes these days. Sportsmanship is sadly being replaced by gamesmanship. What I'm wondering about is why the referee sent him off. There was no strike so it wasn't a red card offence. If the referee genuinely thought that was a strike, and remember he was standing beside it, then I'd question him being appointed as a referee in the first place. It'll be interesting to see what he puts in his report on the game. If that was what he was sent off for then I'm sure the red card will be appealed and overturned. |

The ref was already writing up his foul on Colm Cavanagh when the hair pulling incident occured.
So he was about to be sent off .
Mc Cann had no need to act like a child, and Mickey Harte needs to address the problem. |

He looked like a right idiot.I was at the game, and he wasn`t the only Tyrone player who didn`t come out of it well. Duffy is an idiot of a ref. Always was, but the amount of pups Tyrone sold him, Sean Cavanagh in particular, he had a very large litter going back to Sligo. |

Hair pulling? That's a bit of a leap. |

Yes it is creeping into gaa your dead right, it's pathetic stuff. Northern teams seem to be very underhanded with their antics but all over it's creeping in.
Hopefully the gaa react, retrospective bans would be good to see. |

I've read this post from top to bottom. I am a Tyrone support. Look what he done was wrong. But!!! He is not the only player at it. Kerry players do it. All players do it. Do the cavanaghs buy frees? Yes. Look if we cut to the chase the problem is simple but how is it rectified? Simple retrospective suspensions. It's that easy. I feel for the lad he's a decent cub |

The latest is a proposed 8 week suspension, and yet Mickey Harte comes out and says that McCann is not entirely to blame? What planet is Harte on? Certainly seems to be condoning and even encouraging tyrones recent behaviour issues. Oh and the obligatory tweet then from the epic prick that is Joe brolly, never one to miss a publicity opportunity! |

Harte is right, McCann is not entirely to blame. The blame for these incidents lies squarely at the feet of Mickey Harte, he coaches this behaviour and has yet to come out and condemn it. Cheating is a way of life for Tyrone GAA, they cheated Armagh in 03 and Kerry in 05 and 08. Their actions in this years U21 final were shameful, yet not surprising.
Thankfully they will only be a memory after the Kerry game. |

The ban is harsh and unfair. Players now dive all the time. I truly think ppl just don't like Tyrone. It's that simple. The old romantics of the GAA Dublin and Kerry hate playing them. They hate it! Why? Because we stand up to it. To say Mickey Harte trains his players to dive is crazy. But let's be logical here. If 2 men are slapping at you 30 yards out from goal and the Space is limited go down! It's logic! It's craft it's the old "cute hoor". Tyrone for Sam. If Mickey Harte pula this one off he will be the greatest manager ever |

The referee was very poor here too !! If he saw the incident he'd have taken no action ! He clearly didn't see it yet he red carded an innocent player ! It's not the first time Duffy has made terrible calls ! |

What Tiernan did was unacceptable. But the rule is .... A yellow card
This 8 week ban is just ridiculous. It's plain to see there is an agenda with the powers that be in RTE because of Tyrone management and players refusing to give interviews to the national broadcaster (for good reason BTW) It's obvious that "St. Colm " and "St. Ciaran" were reading a pre determined script from said broadcaster.
Why there was no such uproar before, when any other man from any other county, done the exact same thing,is beyond me. I just hope the referee is a whole lot better than Marty Duffy was and doesn't buy into this Anti-Tyrone thing ...... Tír Eoghain Ábu !

Yes, lots of players from lots of counties dive in an attempt to win frees. We saw a Cork player looking like a dick a few weeks ago and we've seen plenty of others do it over the years. We've never seen it done as often in a game as we did on Saturday and the incident in question wasn't done in an attempt to win a free, as the play was already stopped, it was simply an attempt to get someone sent off. You mention a player going down when two players are slapping him, and that's fine. In this case there weren't two players slapping him. There wasn't one player slapping him. Hughes touched his hair. For lads that profess to play a "manly" game it was pretty unmanly if you ask me. It also has nothing to do with people disliking Tyrone so much as disliking the way Tyrone played on Saturday last. Blaming RTÉ is great but RTÉ are responding to what people are talking about. The complaints about the dive had started before RTÉ even screened the game. |

Kerry in the 70's etc hadn't got many cute hoors diving, they didn't need to. there is no room for diving in gaa, hopefully retrospective bans and media attention stop it spreading.
Agree with you that if Tyrone win it then harte will be an all time great but certainly not the greatest. I dont think they will beat Kerry really. |

It's this simple the Munster championship is piss poor. With all due respect to Limerick & Clare they would hardly win the London championship. Tyrone will beat Kerry (they fucking better lol). Point taken he should not have dived. But other players do it. As for Kerry in 70s 80s great sides. No doubt |

from tossing to pulling ... This sort of exaggeration is exactly why our game is the way it is |
