You are meeting for the first time, coffee, drink or meal perhaps.
What would put you off a second meet, taking it further?.
Or, what would put you off even testing the waters , arranging a coffee or drink?.
Mine.
On a first meet, being endlessly bombarded with stories of big houses and cars ect 
Stopping me from arranging a first meet, over confidence and bad manners. |

If you're not into over confidence you'd love me. I had a meet and I got so nervous my heart started beating really loud. It was so loud that the first 15 mins was a bit awkward because it was distracting us from a conversation we were trying to have.

It can be a bit of + and -, sometimes your expectations can be more than you expected.
I always plan a hotel meet, have some food and few drinks and if it happens that the lady is not interested, call a taxi and pay the driver for her journey home.

I don't like coffee meets, there awkward, if I can't feel the heat while having a chat, ain't going to happen, only went wrong once and had to call it off because I wasn't listening to my gut feeling and but also a mismatch of profile and person. |

Webcam as you say does it for many people.
I have to hold my hands up and admit to putting myself in a few dubious situations in the past.
Coming back to swinging again as a single female, I was determined to avoid the above.
So a coffee, or quick drink meet works best for me.
Different strokes for different folks though.
