I heard a few are into it yeah. Some will say they are not but if its offered they will nearly wet themselves and some girls are into it.
I just wish they were honest about it, make it easier to make decisions if you're not into it. But a lot of people on here hide half the stuff they get up to. |

Wouldn't be my choice, but then condoms do not protect fully against many STDs and it appears that the majority of people do not use condoms or dental dams for oral anyway - several STDs can be passed on via oral sex. |

Stop being so outraged.
Shit happens.
Don't fuck them if you don't want.
Problem solved.
People on here really need to stop worrying or being shocked on how others behave.
If you don't like it then don't meet them. End of story

It's their lives and their own bodies that they are messing with!
So at the end of the day all we can do is protect ourselves as much as possible and engage in regular check ups
There is always choice in these situations so you can choose to play bare with them or you can choose not to
Each to their own. |

I've been rejected countless times for refusing to do bareback. The problem is some hard up any hole is a goal type mightn't be so cautious and then go on to meet others who will then meet others and so on.
They say in Ireland there are seven degrees of separation between everyone but that has to be significantly less on the swing scene.
Food for thought.
These fools endanger everyone to some extent in my view.

I'd prefer not to take a shower in a rain coat as well. I'm not paranoid about catching aids and dying. More chance of an unwanted pregnancy, but I wouldn't want to fuck a 100 people a week either. |

I'm not surprised that people do this, but i'd be curious to know how the subject was broached.
I've had sex without a condom so little in my sexual career (and this includes my vanilla sex life) that i'm struggling to remember what having bareback sex actually feels like (I think it was great but I digress..)
I've only been offered bareback once, and that was during a meet, and it was mentioned in a "if you bring papers, then next time bareback is an option" kind of way. Very politely and respectfully, and I respected the couple for that.
Maybe the fact I have "condoms only" on my profile when I was active (here's me forgetting I'm not active anymore) s out a lot of bareback lovers.
So is it wrong that people do this? Not really.
Is there a right way to go about it? Of course. |

Of course it's wrong! Why do you insist on condoms yourself then?
"
Because the only person you can really trust is yourself.
You quote one line of my post when the very next line, you ignore which makes my point. So let me go into more detail.
Is there a right way to go about bareback? I would assume so, but having done so little bareback in my life (and I was once fucking married) I'm no expert on the subject but i would assume that there are people in the swing community, who may play amongst themselves, possibly bareback. To think otherwise would be very naive.
It's how they go about it that matters. Do all parties produce recent test results? I dont know. never done it, couldn't tell you.
People lose the run of themselves, it can happen.
The only thing you can do is try not to be one of them, and protect yourself.
If anyone has opposing views to mine, or wishes to correct me in any way, please do. A frank discussion on this subject is better than none at all. |

It's wrong, and you should be paranoid about aids.
HIV has gone up 11%
I have gone on about figures before, but the new ones published just the other month are worse.
Figures shooting up year on year for gay and bisexual people etc.
About 50% of people are late diagnosed too. That means they were either tested clean or didnt bother testing.
Also, the odds shoot up if you do anything sexually risky. Swinging would be considered risky. So we are all straight away higher risk of catching hiv.
You can manage that by being safe, getting to know people, not having a million sexual partners, knowing they are safe. You can also reduce risk to partners, for example, if you have hiv and are on hiv drugs then the risk of someone catching off you shoots down even in unprotected sex. |

They may not know either. What you do with your sexual health is your business. What anyone does with their sexual health is their business.
Regular check ups even if using protection are part of just good general health practices. |

You would know if someone has aids because they would be dieing, well would have. I think they effective treatments these days or even a cure?
hiv you would not know someone had I think you mean.
Either way hiv/aids primarily spreads in intravenous drug users (junkies) and gay men. It's not something an average person is ever likely to come into contact with in the western world as far as I'm aware. |

Why not. You say primarily in those two groups rather than saying the majority.
If you don't understand the difference
By saying primarily you are saying that MOST cases are in the intravenous drug user and gay groupings. The majority (ie over half) are. You falsely minimize the risks in the other groupings. Presumably you consider bi sexuals are a risk? |

Firstly, we always use condoms for full sex on meets, but here are some interesting stats on the subject...
www.cdc.gov/hiv/policies/law/risk.html
If you have one off unprotected sex with someone who has the hiv virus then the transmission rates are very low. Eg..
Approx 4 in 10,000 for a man having vaginal sex with an infected woman.
Aporox 8 in 10,000 for a woman having vaginal sex with an infected man.
Other groups of people are WAY more at risk than swingers.
Consider that 2 out of 3 smokers will die of a smoking related illness, and antiretroviral drugs mean that you can expect a fairly normal life expectancy these days after hiv infection.
Just providing perspective, don't take risks people.

"Not a chance maybe after several meets but defo not the first. "
Dont con yourself that's any safer. Unless you both get tested clear and abstain from any risky activity for up to 6 months (that it can take for an infected person to show a positive on a hiv test), then there is a risk. And even if you DO all that, you still don't know for sure if your partner did.
Bareback is always a risk in reality. See above to see how much of a risk. |

Thank poster for posting stats and telling it like it is and reenforcing my argument.
You would have to try petty hard to get hiv from unprotected sex. There are much more common std's that are orders of magnitude more contagious. |

Junkies made up approx 5% of Irish infections, and 46% were men who have sex with men. You are therefore technically correct as these groups make 51% of Irish infections taken together. |

Just because there is treatment to ensure that people infected can live a long life, does not and should not be a reason to indulge in bareback.
As the infection becomes less scary, more people take risks.
Life with HIV is often life destroying, suffers have to deal with terrible stigma.
Given that huge numbers of hetrosexuals are HIV positive and do not realise, swingers are especialy at risk.
If you seriously believe that after a few meets, it is okay to go bareback, then you are fooling yourself. |

Maybe in Africa. Your opinion. Seriously this a moot argument."
Listen , if you want to bury your head in the sand feel free.
Before you do, try a little research on the subject, it is not opinion it is fact.
By the way, am a swinger long enough to know that their are a damn lot of people who do not give a shit about their sexual health, let alone that of the people they meet.

Approximately 7 in every 100,000 people in Ireland have been diagnosed with hiv. More than half of those are men who have sex with men. So if you are having random heterosexual sex with straight partners then it's more like under 3 in 100,000.
It's impossible to say how many have it and don't know it though. |

Yes that's it. Bareback is seen by most people as a massive exercise in risk taking, but some of these people enjoy cigarettes which have a better than 50 percent chance of causing an untimely death. In the VERY unlikely event that you caught hiv it is a manageable illness with modern medicine and as long as it's picked up early (through regular testing) it is likely you will live a long and otherwise healthy life.
I am not advocating ANY risky behaviour at all and it's something we don't do ourselves. I'm just trying to view it objectively in comparison with other risky behaviour. |

I was at the GUM clinic in June and had an interesting conversation with a member of staff.
I made them aware that I was on a swingers site. She was very curious about how important safe sex was on it.
She told me about a swinging couple who came in for testing (the wife had an sti). That couple told her amongst the swinging community couples they play with regularly, it would be an insult to even discuss using condoms. Makes you think.
But like someone said above, it's best to just mind ourselves. |

This is the ultimate in stupidity - any adults who refuse to countenance discussion of safe sex should be avoided like the plague - I wonder how many in the circle besides the one tested had the STD at that point? |

Mostly all sports come with risks...
All hobbies even fucking knitting I'm sure come with a risk of injury...
For those playing away a sti is so much more difficult to explain than a couple playing together or a genuine single has they take antibiotics and a few blue pills and it's all good...
Obviously hiv is a completely different ball game,it's very serious but so is hep V and nobody has bothered to mention it...
I go regularly to my local clinic and have my hep booster and my full blood count done!
But EVERYONE should not many bother!!
Safe seX is paramount obviously but even the most cautions of us can't be guaranteed to be "Safe" get checked regularly and take no risks..end of!!

It shall type slowly so as to penetrate your thick skull.
In 2014 , there were 183 reported cases of HIV passed through homosexual sex.
123 cases passed through hetrosexual and 27 via drugs.
Those presenting with advanced symptoms were found in the hetrosexual group.
Now that is only 60 between the first two groups, so the notion that gay males are more likely to present with HIV in Ireland is not true.
The fugures for the UK amongst hetrosexuals is even higher, and there has been a rise of 34% in Western Europe amongst hetrosexuals over recent years.
Hence my amusement that you think the problem is in your words African amuses me, but you are too thick to get sarcasm.
So dear insult me with the troll comparison all you wish, often it is the last resort of one not capable of adult discussion. |

I agree... Wrap up ... There's plenty of time to unwrap once u are comfortable with the peeps ur with and they with u...! Look at it like trying to cross a busy road blindfolded and being told the traffic lights work when they don't ... If that makes sense...soz... |

Im single and when I have a meet no matter how great the chat is on Fab..
I will always bring condoms with me...
But if ( when) im in a secure relationship then at some point they will go....
But the truth is, even if I frogged marched him to the sti clinic and he was all clear, I cant be certain he wont play away in the relationship and then, give me something...
You cant be certain 100% going bareback that your 100% safe
Just saying you need to be careful and choose carefully. |

Putting aside the 'health&safety' of using Condoms, can I ask a sex question on topic. As I woman I find using condoms enhances sex especially when using ones like rimmed, sensual tingly ones & flavored etc etc (& of course 1's that makes him last longer lol) so am I right assuming that it's the guys that mainly want bareback & is it actually really more pleasurable or just because it's kind of taboo nowadays to do ?? |

Personal opinion here, bareback is more pleasurable. Condoms can be uncomfortable and can reduce sensation too much sometimes. Having said that, I haven't been bareback in donkey's years and don't intend to be either. |

Would not be into it, doubt anyone who had to endure waiting around the guide clinic in James for hours would either. Few minutes of pleasure not worth months of stress and anxiety! |

No. You'd be assuming wrong. Plenty of women want bareback on here, they're just not going to publicly say it on here. |
