feck, the top of my onion plant snapped in that storm last night and all my giant sunflowers are almost all blown right over.
I've been growing that onion for months and now it has a broken neck. |

Two of the biggest ones are flat on the ground. They are just starting to grow flower heads too. This really pisses me off. I don't think I have anything to stake them up with. |

that'll have to come out now then, how tall did you get the Sunflowers? Around 2005-7 we had a great summer, my tallest reached around 12' & the head was the size of a dinner plate. |

that'll have to come out now then, how tall did you get the Sunflowers? Around 2005-7 we had a great summer, my tallest reached around 12' & the head was the size of a dinner plate."
These are Russian Giants. They are about 6 foot high now, just poking over the hedge in the front yard.
I grew these same sunflowers about 10 years ago and the flowerheads were about the size of a pizza, must have been about 10 feet high or more. |
