Lots of talk around the net about this match being a fix. Mendes dominated McGregor apparently yet went down too early. UFC fans saying this too, not just cynics. What say you guys? |

My first thoughts were that it was a fix ! Mendes def dominated and McGregor for the first time was on the back foot & seemed nervous . I thought mendes went down easily but after pausing and rewinding a million times McGregor got in some great blows and just seemed to catch mendes nicely !! |

100% fix, he dived down and didn't even have hands raised in defence, the blind wont see it of course. Wouldn't consider it a sport but fair balls to Connor he puts the work in. |

Plus conor is the UFCs cash cow and had he lost last night they wouldn't be able to keep the train going as much as they would have |

I know nothing about mma, but the guy has been above and beyond kind to the very ill son of someone I know, behind all the bravado seems a very decent guy. |

"Ohhhhhhh...Loved it!!!
Told ya bold!!!
I still think he's a plonker!! It's all an act. He's a showman. And a very clever one at that......"
I don't care what kind of "showman" he is, I think he's a plonker.
Just my opinion. |

I called every fight.
Who seriously thought mcgregor would lose to someone with only 2 weeks training, who he has an 8 inch reach over?
Imagine what would have happened him if he was fight fit, would have been smashed into the ground. |

"What else has McGregor to do to prove himself. . It was Mendes chin not his fight fitness let him down...Fair play to the Irishman."
Sure, a fit mendes would have sat on top of someone for 3 minutes and not ended it, or would have let someone out of half guard on the ground.
You're talking about the top grond control person in the division and he just lay on top of conor doing nothing really.
Conor had no ground game at all, begging the ref to let him up, in the end he just stood up cause mendes was so tired.
And mendes just stood in the pocket and let conor hit him.
Sure thats all conors skill.
There was very little skill at all in the fight, and mendes did great for 2 weeks of training but his fitness let him down major.
Regardless its a weak weight division, its lacking talent compared to other weight classes. |

Great fight McGregger showed a lot of flaws, but mendes would never have lasted another round at that pace.
But anyone else think Herb stood in a bit quick with 3 seconds to go |

Mendes couldn't have been at his best with just 2 weeks notice but on the other hand mcgregor wasn't training to fight a wrestler either. Rematch be on the cards I think
Mcgregor best striker in the sport, has decent bjj altho we haven't seen it much yet just super smooth guard passes,he just has to focus on his wrestling with a top US coach |

They were saying mendes trains to fight at short notice so he is always fight ready but that could be complete bollox |

McGregor will definitely have to focus on his takedown defense. .. he was taking down too easily. . He has proven himself to be dangerous to anyone when the fight stays standing. . |

"Hardly a peep about it on the TV and no one even mentioned it when they found out where I was from, and this is while I was in Vegas over the weekend.
"
There was a lot of peep about it on youtube and online, couldn't miss it
Mendes was always fucked when the two fighters were going toe to toe, he had no chance and just wanted the fight to be over. ran out of gas very quick with those kicks to the body. he would be the same if he had a full training camp too id say
