Hoping some of you can give me a few tips on places to stay very near Westport. Thinking of going there for 2 nights of the August Bank holiday weekend but there are only a couple of hotels with availability that are charging a huge amount so don't mind staying out of town or even a nearby town.
Thanks, Mrs P. |

Try Air-b&b. I know someone who does it near the Quays and about 10 mts walk into the centre of town

"Thank you, is there not much to do in Castlebar?
No it's a shithole Westport is buzzing all year round "
Couldn't agree more .... Avoid castlebar! Horrible place. Westport is really lovely though.

"All this poop about westport. Westport gets hundreds of tourists every weekend and treats them accordingly. It's incredibly unfriendly
"
I've spent lots of time in Westport over the past 12 years and I couldn't say that I've ever encountered an unfriendly person there. Have enjoyed every visit, be it staying in hotels or camping.
It is touristy but that's what keeps the town going.
