Yes agreed but it's never once mentioned in the show that he has aspergers or any form of autism for that matter, which I think is really cool. |

That's because the actor behind Sheldon based his character on somebody with autism without any direction or instructions from the directors. It's completely unintended. Hence it's never mentioned. Because it isn't something the writers asked for. It's something the audience thought of. |

That seems unlikely. most of the show is based on his condition and how he interacts
So before jim parsons got the part it was a show about 2 nerds sharing a flat?
He should at least get a writing credit |

the writers have said he doesn't have a condition. He is supposed to be quirky. That was the idea. So yes, before JP got the part it was about 2 nerds sharing a flat. |

Just for pig iron I googled "sheldon cooper autism". First article that comes up (of many!) On Google, says within that the writers instructed JP that his character isn't autistic. |

Once again I'll mention community. Sadly overlooked by many. BBT is a guilty pleasure as I do enjoy it but it's laughing at nerds not with them. Community on the other hand is so well written, gives knowing winks to geeks while not making fun of them and the character of Abed DOES have asbergers and is played brilliantly.
If you haven't seen it I very much recommend watching it. |
