basically my jaw dislocates and relocates everytime I open my mouth! I have no cartilage between my jaw bones so it clicks something crazy but at the moment it's stuck and I can barely open my mouth!

Mouth guard worn at night or at times when it's very bad is usually suggested. I think surgery is only last resort

Analgesics(painkillers) or therapy to alleviate the symptoms sweetie but you should be seeking more ways to manage the condition as it can progress with further pain ,I hope this helps x

There is no public consultant that will touch it. It's only private. That was what they told me 2 years ago. I haven't had it locked in a while now. It's probably subconscious they stress from exams last week Brought it on. Sounds strange I know!!

I have had this from 16. Had an operation 7 years ago. Did no good. Got gum shields in the dental hospital to wear at night and they help. Try to keep my stress levels down which is the best thing.

yep!!! The locking is very seldom but come on when I'm extra stressed. Its caused by grinding my teeth while I sleep! I have the weirdest bite anyway. My jaw clicks/pops very loudly everytime I open it. This time it's just kinda stuck and can't open it. Can open it to the extent of just before the pop if ya get me. The whole side of my face is in bit. My ear, my head the lot.

this is only the second time it's locked this bad..

Oh no. I understand completly what your saying as i get the exact same minus the locking. Now that we are talking about it, I do actually remember it trying to lock up on me before but whatever i done it freeed up, that side of my face was painful for 2 or 3 days but i didnt take any notice of it. Im here now messing with my mouth, every single time the bottom of months swings to the side or anything it clicks and knocks. Think we need a trip to the docs. Iv never paid any attention to it till this post. Thank you

I do get headaches quite a bit but would have never of put it down to this. I get extremely stressed and worry about things to much, i thought this would have been the cause of the headaches. I've spent days in hospitals for headaches and then after seeing specialist he said they would be the cause of headaches. It's the tension all up along the side of ur jaw and into ur head. Yep!!! Have a read up on TMD or TMJ Dysfunction. don't want to scare you but it's pretty shit.. the longer you leave it the worse it will get.
