How many do we all have,most definitely each area of our lives require a different version of ourselves,same would apply on here. Are we one person in our messages and responses,another persona on the forums and then when we meet face to face a whole different personality again????
Is it perhaps a case of lost in translation and because of the written word our persona is open to interpretation and misinterpretation? So that many of us are considered arrogant,rude or obnoxious but when met face to face its a whole different situation. I'm interested in hearing peoples opinions on this one as its something I've considered for a long time while I was lurking in the background

Its hard to portray yourself in messages and in the forums because some people may read it the wrong way about how ive written things .. i hope that i cone across as the same on here messaging to what im like in person |

The same is said of all 2 way communication, text, e-mail etc. Because there is no tone of voice, often humor typed is lost or taken in wrong context. Or straight honest replies May be seen or taken as rude or harsh! |

Ten minutes in a persons company is far better than hundreds of posts or emails.
So much of our communication is non verbal that its very difficult to get a real opinion of a person till you meet them in real life.
And even then it can take a while to get to know the real person. It's really great when you meet someone and they exceed all your expectations |

I write better than I speak, as in when I write the word 'walking' for example, I write it with ING, but when I say it I drop the g at the end. Other than that, I think I'm the same, I hope I'm the same. |

Could be considered as it. Were chatting to one forum user and they are completely different here to what they are in pm. Another user we chat to is the same as they on the forums. |

After meeting a lot of fabbers ...i find I read their posts hearing their tea world voice in my head .....laids' voice would be an example of this lol...as for have I a split personality, only person who truly knows me both on and off here is Ollie pop....

I'm the same here as in real life. I don't suffer fools. Not even for a minute. They annoy me, both here and in real life. A much higher percentage of them here though.
If someone is nice to me, I'll be nicest guy they'll meet. |
