When was your last one? Be honest!
Decided to go every six weeks or so as my new year resolution.
Also, what's the quickest, easiest or cheapest bet in Dublin?
You can go to the Mater public on Monday mornings for free but taking time off work is a pain, you have to wait and go back for the results and the ambiance in the waiting room is strange to say the least.

Every six weeks is to often, especially if you have tested positive for something. As it will still come up positive in cases such as chymidia, even if you have been treated, as the tests are so sensitive. Every year or six months is not enough, if you are an active swinger. The recommended screening in the North is every 12 weeks. Or before that, if you feel you have came in contact with an STI. In the North you get your three swabs, full bloods to include HIV and hepatitis along with a hepatitis vacancies. Plus a bag of condoms, I have to say we are really well looked after up here |

I'm aware of the 3 months incubation period hence choosing 6 weeks as a good rolling number.
I agree 6 months probably isn't enough for active swingers but is a good start.
Envious of the health service in the UK.

Have had regular checks myself seems only right. Sexual health is very important to me as I'm sure it is to all of us on here. If infected it usually shows up on a test at 3 to 4 weeks after initial contact. |

We go every 6 months. The stigma should be removed from the clinics as it is as normal as going to dentist or gp. Alot of people see the gum clinic as some sort of embarracement but it totally normal. I work in one of these clinics and people should not be nervous or embarrassed about attending. Its 100% confidential and the service is second to none. |

The last one I got was in Waterford hospital (gum clinic.)
its very relaxed and not too many people there. It doesn't take long and it's free. They text you on ur results in a few days.
I also was in james's hospita (gum clinic) on another occasion. The place was packed.not a nice experience. |

"It takes 16 weeks for anything to show up after having sex with someone different ... "
Not every symptom shows after 6 weeks but most infections can be spotted 6 weeks after intercourse.
I went to a free HSE clinic in a hospital before and they were great, although there is always a risk of meeting someone, they said it takes two weeks for ALL tests to be run though some people seem to have quicker turnarounds on here...hopefully with good news
Since that I've attended my GP. I recommend it for privacy. The question was what is the 'easiest' and 'cheapest' way to get tested. My experience would be the free ones are the cheapest but a go appointment is the easiest. |

Feb 15 . Vaccinations , condoms , swabs , bloods . Causeway walk-in clinic suits me best . Get on well with the nurses there , they give good advice and extra condoms when you tell them you're on a swinging site . |

Has you noticed that the usual suspects that feel the need to contribute on every single topic ever raised seem to be strangely quiet on this one ,
Draw your own conclusions I say |
