All of my boys have "old fashioned" names .

For me I picked names that my kids in the future could live with .. also none of their names can be shortend down for silly nicknames

My kids have traditional irish names. I wouldn't be a fan of the names kids are being called these days.

When I first seen Rhianna on tv I thought she was Irish and from Tallaght.

The way she says "Umbrella", I dunno, reminds me of Tallaght.

I named my youngest after a hero of mine, its an unusual in this part of the world but he likes it. I notice when he's with his friends a lot of them call each other by their surnames or nicknames, which I hate and he doesn't do btw,but he's always called his given name. There's too many johns and marks in the world

Everyone in my family is named for other family members so kept it going myself. Not so common to hear most of them now as most are usually too old fashioned, especially my own

My town

I wanted to name my daughter after my grandmothers maiden name (it can be a first name) but right before I had her in the land of soap operas a baby was born with the exact name. I was fuming cause if I had if named her that name I would of has people excusing me of calling my daughter after the character at the time.
