Out here we have always had to pay for water.... Rural Ireland has a large network of private group water schemes which were installed and paid for by the people themselves.. For me it's actually going to be cheaper than before... |

Seen as Water should be a human right our old system of taking it out of all collected taxes was fairer than charging people for it.
The fact that some rural areas get a raw deal and had to pay anyway doesnt mean the rest of the country should, it just means the government is inept.
I dont understand why they cant point to europe and copy some of the good things for once, like hospitals, doctors, roads, schools, working hours.. Instead when they point to europe its always to try fleece us and something the people in Europe dont even like.
In France they pay for water, bins, etc but they dont mind they have fantastic health, fantastic roads, fantastic waste disposal.
Here we pay for water, bins, etc and still have crap health service, crap roads, crap waste disposal.
It just grinds my gears. Even when we pay for water it will still be crap, Im convinced my water pressure has fallen, I am convinced I have to use more energy to heat it up in the electric shower, its gone off and never has before in the past.
Anyway. |

For the simple fact fluoridated water is harmful to your body. That needs to be rectified before anything else. We wonder why incidence of cancer is so high in this country this could be a major contributing factor. |

Well you wouldn't mind paying for clean safe water but when it's already paid for through general taxation and motor tax and it's not anywhere near clean and now a bill thought the door it's crazy where is the money going ? If the government had invested as much in getting people into gainful employment where the can make a future they would make as much if not more through tax boggles the mind |

"Never never never fuck them "
I presume that means Never, never, never, in an Ian Paisley fashion, followed by fuck them, in an aggressive fashion.
.
.
The alternative, which is what is written, kinda means don't fuck them under any circumstances.
.
.
Isn't punctuation great? |

I don't see what all the anti water protests are about. Most countries pay for water so it was only a matter of time. These scumbags that are going out protesting with violence and been hostile are not helping anyone. The funny thing is I bet half of them don't even work so it won't even affect them |

The water charges are just another excuse for the government to dip our pockets..not everyone that protests are hostile and use violence.
It will affect everyone in the future, weather you are unemployed or employed now.
You pay if u want.
But I won't be paying |

Can you honestly see the boys and girls standing up in front of the Dragons in the den and outlining there cunning plan.
1. We would like an investment of about 1 billion euros For a stake of zero in our company.
2. We don't know who are customers are but we are going to bill everyone just incase they owe us money.
3. We have a staff of 5 or so thousand all on good pensions and pay as well as bonuses.
4. And we will jail anyone we feel like because they maybe our clients.
Add on if you wish.

Your a bit deluded there, as there has been NO violent protests ?? if you think surrounding a ministers car is violent I feel sorry for you it's a big bad world outside that bubble you live in. I don't know how you think these protests get out of hand people like you will complain all day but do nothing if you educated yourself and knew what you were talking about there are sinister dealings being arranged in the background that is only going to fall on the taxpayer. As for protesters not working I'm working and paying tax since I was 16 probably longer than you and I'm an avid protestor so everything you just said is worthless take your head out of your ass and actually read on on what is actually happening... |

Well the latest in the news is now that those gobshite politicians in fine fail gave out information about people who didn't register. So now saying that bills can't be sent out yet.
We ain't paying. Disgrace this country is. Sure we started getting on their backs about the roads years ago and they changed it from road tax to emissions tax. Roads are no better. They'll do this time and time again. Cover everything up... Pocket the profits and do fuck all.
Been considering moving country if honest |

Well here's a fact that puts this country in perspective....
In Berlin which is in Germany one of the top European countries you can rent a 4 bed apartment for €400 p/m and that includes the water charges and some tenant bills.
If they lowered price of some things in this country the water charges would have been a smooth transition.
But greed takes priority |

I've been paying for water on a rural scheme for the last 15 years. My parents have paid for over 40 years. No flouride in the water, no leaks, very well run schemes by it's members. We have water meters for the last 4 years and my water bill is down from €70 to €50 a year. I'm on a committee and all the Irish schemes went to a meeting with Irish water to show them how it works but they didn't want to know. Ireland is one of the last countries in Europe to use fluoride. 70% of Irish water has flouride. 30% of Ireland is on rural water schemes and they don't use flouride. |

[Quote] but you won't get a €100 grant its only given in €25 increments when you register with Irish water and then only if you buy water conservation products like water butts and then you will be charged extra for collecting rain water so you will lose a lot more than €100 in the long run read the small print folks in all correspondence from Irish water |

"Because the average bill is 250 p annum per adult and after the 100 euro grant it will be 150...so about 3 euro a week...or if you prefer 43c a day!"
Lol goodman maybe for the first year and plus not every household uses the same amount of water say you a single man will use less that a family of 4 considerably less plus you have less bills less to pay for(unless you have children) so think what you want buddy take off the rose shaded glasses and look whats going on nobody would mind paying a small contribution to ensure their water is safe and clean but since 2 thirds of the motor tax paid in this country and some general tax also supposably goes towards water why pay any more when we are paying twice already. There is an act that was passed that stated that the government could not bill anyone for water as it is paid for through motor tax and general taxation |
