Personally I think he staged the whole incident, the other twos contract is out at the end of the season, ie now. He's going to make a killing out of this |

It's like sacking God!!!
Love him with a passion!!!!"
We are too Monsters! But he had to go, it's one of those situations where the right thing has been done to everyone's detriment. |

As mentioned the entire thing stinks of a publicity machine in full effect - channel 5 will have their cheque books out in a flash. (or he will get poached by one of the american shows) I loved the show but recently it turned into a parody of itself - I still watched it, but tended to shout at the telly a lot when they did something obviously staged |

Top gear = boring old farts on holiday doing scripted jokes.
I stopped watching it years ago, they cant give an honest review of any car, they write completely different things about the cars in their magazine, newspaper articles.
Clarkson aims himself at common english people, He sticks out his chest, growls at the french, does risque jokes, and its all basically an act.
He speaks fluent french etc, he goes tof football matches despite doing tired jokes about not knowing anything about football.
He is a total diva though, he strops all the time, he is difficult to manage, and he says stupid stuff all the time looking for a reaction.
It's caught up with him. I bet he thinks he is so stupid himself, but he will never say it he has to keep up the act of the stiff upper lip.
Anyway I'm sure he will be fine, he has saved a lot of money by not paying tax, and he could always go on topgear france his french he likes france a lot.
but yeah. The show has been rubbish for years. |

He was a liability! You can only let him away with so much and he's had too many 2nd chances! He'll go to sky and make a fortune!!
Very disappointed in James May's comment that "such a small thing was blown out of proportion"! Id hardly call assault a small thing! Clarkson throwing his toys out of his pram like some prima Donna! All because he was late and didn't get his steak! Oh what a pity for the bourgeoisie! |

"I personally like clarkson, he could say the most outrageous things and get away with it." That's precisely what i didn't like about him, constantly pushing the boundaries and getting away with it, until he thought he was invincible or untouchable. Looks like he was wrong. The BBC did the right thing, although i admit as much as i disliked him, millions of others loved him.

He was wrong with his actions but it would be difficult to to replace him.
He could probably destroy the sales of a car manufacture overnight. |

He's like Marmite... you either hate him or love him......
I for one can't stand the idea of Top Gear without him.... the interaction between the 3 lads was brilliant and made the show what it was...
You cant give someone a slap in the workplace without the ramifications.... but you would wonder as Oisin didn't make a complaint, why did Jezza inform the Director..... hmmmm wonder if there is something already in the background....

But it was a "small incident"... Think the BBC were just looking for a reason to sack him!! |

I see Clarkson tried to raise some public sympathy for his plight by explaining he'd recently been told he 'might' have tongue cancer yet was filmed returning to his London flat carrying a packet of cigarettes. |

"According to the bbc report he attacked the producer for 30 seconds and left him with cut and swollen lip. So fuck him they had to sack him
"
Yup, defo agree.
To physically hit someone at work is a sackable offence no matter who you are.

Rumours going around now that Phillip Glenister, aka Gene Hunt, is in the running to replace him. Might not be a bad choice, actually, his show 'For The Love Of Cars' on Channel 4 isn't too bad and he's good on that.
Plus, if he got the gig and they had him testing an Audi sometime, it would give us a chance to hear him say, "Right, let's fire up the quattro!" once again! lol |
