Sorry about the confusing title.
Just wondering what people think about this.
First of all iam not trying to offend anyone that maybe over weight. If your happy with your weight that's great for you.
Ok so let's say your technically over weight (doesn't matter wether your male or female) but ur basically not in good shape. You really Fancy a particular person but they clearly have no interest in you despite the fact they may know your a good/nice person etc but it's just not enough for them as they don't find you attractive.
Fast forward a year later. You have spent hours upon hours in the gym, eating right etc and your looking a hell of alot better. Suddenly you notice the same person showing alot more interest in you and it becomes apparent that you could now have them if you so choosed....
Would you feel angry and tell them where to go?
Or would you be happy to get with them knowing you were the same person last year but weren't good enough for them based on your appearance?? |

I dont like people who exercise for looks. I dont like people who think my body is nice. I dont like people in general.
I like people who make me laugh. I assume if I was fat I would like the same people I like now, I assume they would like me.
I am not sure. |

Rejection always smarts so possibly yes, cutting off my nose to spite my face I'd say no thanks. It wouldn't be because he exercised his right to choose someone he found physically attractive, (if we didn't apply this or some other selection criteria then all our friends would turn into more) but it would be more a pride thing on my part.
But then being rational, in your scenario I obviously wanted a different version of myself also, so could I really put him down for wanting the same thing and admiring it once it was acheived? |

Well tbh i think a lot of ppl on this site do go for looks esp. some men not tarring ye all with the same brush here now hehe
But id rather someone who makes me laugh a person who can hold a conversation and someone who is just great company to be around regardless of weight!! And if I'm being completely honest i do prefer a good looking man but if he has a bit of weight on him it wudnt bother me as I'm no slim jim myself

A well thought out response i would entirely agree with.
Pride would most likely be the only thing stopping you. Nobody can seriously hold it against another person for not fancying them, for any reason other than pride. |

It takes all sorts to make the world go by. Once you get to know a person and you click the shape, size, looks fades. Yes there will always be health consequences for certain type of body configurations but that is down to the individual if that want to do anything about it, and even better if they get the support of those around them.

What has that got to do with the original question? |

We all have our preferences and if through improving the build of my body I finally meet someone's criteria, it's only great. I would never hold this against other people that previously they hadn't found my body attractive enough. I do not find such pride being sexy at all.
I think it's great that there are people that work out and do fitness to keep themselves in a good shape or whatever is their reason for doing it. It's a good example to follow.
Look at the great job that Ricky Gervais did to turn the way he looks and how happy he is for having it done, he even did a joke about the whole thing in one of his stand up shows. It's brilliant.

That is how you make friends I think.
Finding sexual partners does require being sexually attracted to the way the look, at least for the vast majority of people, or am I wrong and part of the minority actually? |

True I think...though as the saying goes 'Beauty gets our attention...but personality keeps our interest'...or something to that effect. |

I'd agree with that.
Nothing better than meeting with a beautiful and kind woman that just loves sucking cock and enjoys kinky sex. |

As far as I know, the international average weight of a person hasn't changed in over 30 years, it's misleading that everyone has an average weight.
I'd say it's much the same for height to weight indexes.
If you look healthy you are healthy... |

I actually went to WHO website to check the facts, so here they are:

This site is primarily shallow by its nature. I've no issue with that. People rarely want to get to know the "person" before they ride the "body".
I workout as it is good for my mind. I feel good after it. The body shape is incidental to the primary purpose.
If someone wants to ride me because I have an alright body, I'd oblige.
