Have had 1 woman fail to turn up in the past, wondering what rest of yous thought on the whole situation of booking a hotel waiting on someone?

Meeting in a hotel can be extremely nerve racking for some women who think they can do it then lose their nerve...I'd want to meet socially first tbh

strange how some people would want it there in 1st place if no intention of showing up. I suppose a quick drink in reception could have changed his/her mind

I booked a hotel a couple of years back for a long awaited and talked about meet. On the day, half an hour after i said i'd leave to make my way there, i got a text to say his aunt had died and he wasn't going to meet me after all. He never mentioned the fact that i'd booked the hotel and would now have to pay for it. Never heard from him again. Funny thing is, i don't think he's fake anymore than i think his aunt died. I must have just scared him off

Rather than put yourself through that again,, arrange a coffee meet first???... If both are happy, then do the hotel meet?

Never been unlucky enough for a no show in a hotel, the agreement is all ways, leave your bag in your car and you can slip away if you don't like.

Never been unlucky for that to happen either.

Would wanna be very sure of your meet, who s got a spare €100 these days to blow.

Just throwing it out there once you meet up is it always 50/50 on the bill or is it the person who suggested the hotel meet pay up. ?

And before all the shitty comments come flooding in keep your comments polite

Maybe a little old fashioned but I'd rather pay for the hotel dinner, drinks and enjoy the night out.

If you get lucky it's a bonus.

No bashing either please..

A personal touch can make all the difference with a gesture like that but not all of the ladies expect the guy to pay

Am sure they don't expect it but it's only a small thank you after having a good night out.

City centre hotels are always more expensive, on the outskirts of dublin, they're cheaper

Coffee / chat first..easy enough to get a room if both happy to proceed.

I have a hotel meet this afternoon. However, we have met previously and have planned it for a while.
