At that age they train separately (or if there isn't enough man power you put 6-8s together and 9-10s together)
8:1 coach/kids ratio
However if you don't have the man power its hard to do!
Is it a once off event? |

Main thing is that the kids are always moving. Keep it simple so the kids stay interested/don't get side tracked by:
•Coach talking/explaining too much
•Standing in lines
*Kids shouldn't do any games where they're waiting in lines* |

That's excellent! !
Yes moving at all times. And if possible rather than playing let's say 6v6 MAKE TWO SMALLER PITCHES AND PLAY two 3v3 games (more involvement for kid) |

Have to say I don't see a problem with people talking bout anything on the forums be it their pets/ food/ kids or work life. but it does feel wrong when I mention to my hubby that pussy patrol is coaching an under 10's gaa team no offense patrol it's just the profiler name in the same sentence as a mention of kids. So I kinds get where the "inappropriate" comment may have stemmed from xx
Best of luck anyway I love watching the sport and think it's a great activity for the kiddies.

*Not having a go.
I too, find these threads a little out of place. I'm sure they're completely innocent but the ongoing discussion of a group of children is off putting. If my child was part of a group being discussed by people on an adult website I would be apoplectic. Surely these days if you are working with children you have to be more aware where you are having these discussions. |

Fair point but once OP doesn't name group/team or give any indication I don't see an issue |

Don't be afraid to try drills that u have made up urself, if it not working just stop and go to a drill that u deffo know works. As at any age group always be working on their mental state of mind, it's where any sport is played first! Here's an excerise that has opened a few eyes over the years for me. Put down 3 cones and ask the kids to stand behind the one thinks matches their ability. First cone is if u think u not great, 2nd cone if u not too bad and last cone is if u think ur the best player in the county. Guarentee you u won't have many , if any at all stand behind the last cone when in reality that's the cone they shud all stand behind if their mental state correct. Believe to achieve!! I know every team needs helpers but try, when u talking to ur players , that parents are kept a safe distance away. Out of earshot a good distance for me, so I can say what needs to be said and not what parents think I need to say!! |

No harm in this thread at all. It's a public forum. If people want to discuss the price of silage...let them off! |
