ok folks, I'm looking for fellow foodies... Who loves cooking and sitting down to share a meal with family and friends? It's one of our favourite things to do, especially if they're fab friends and we can work off the calories afterwards. For me, I cook the best boeuf bourguignon you'll ever taste, and hunter does the most amazing soups. I'm also lucky enough to have been cooked some amazing veggie food and some mouthwatering cakes.... So - favourite food, favourite cakes, starters, mains- let's hear them all. |

Oh yum. I love Chinese food, but I'm not a huge fan of stir fry's since hunter tried to feed me Brussels sprouts in one once.
Mmm lemon meringue pie would be a favourite of mine. I don't really like fruity desserts, but either citrusy or chocolate based puddings always go down a treat. |

I love to cook and I'm fairly handy for a young fella but I've a signature dish of chicken in parma ham with a Parmesan sauce, served with garlic baby potatoes |

well if you seen me you would know i love my food
but for starters i would normally do a soup or a goats cheese salad with red onion jamalade and couscous
then for mains either morrocan chicken with sweet potato and a lemon and honey sauce or steak with pepper corn sauce but i have been known to cook venison duck rabbit or wood pigeon but i would have shot them myself.
for vegetarians i've made a gruyere tart with leeks but i dont know many of them so its ok lol
then to my fave part dessert
lemon meringue pie
sacher torte
choux pastry - eclairs choux buns profiteroles etc
pavlovas/meringues
basically any cake my guest wants they can have.

mmmmmm a Fab come dine with me would me so much more fun than one with vanilla friends! Although they've been known to end messy too lol
Last come dine with me was on halloween night a few years ago. I made pumpkin soup and served it from inside the pumpkin, looked cool with a variety of fresh baked bread rolls and flavoured butters.
Main course was beef Wellington, my speciality as I add a few twists. Served with roast veg roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and red wine reduction or gravy.
Dessert was a medley of treats. Chocolate fondant (this was the bain of my life always getting a gooey centre until I found a sure fire trick! now it never fails!) White chocolate and mint moose, chocolate covered strawberries and whipped and ice cream. Finished with a cheese board and Irish coffee! And the customers Halloween fireworks. I think the hooka came out too!
Cost a bloody fortune! Lol but would love to do it with fab friends! Different kind of fireworks!! |

It was a lot easier when we lived in Dublin, in fact we had a really good restaurant about 5 mins from us, and as it was so expensive compared to other takeaways, we used to eat in instead.
If any of you Indian food lovers are in Manchester go out to Rusholme or Southall in London for an experience. |

Hunter, c'mon we're going to Milli's for dinner "
Lol you're very welcome! I've a nice big double bed in the spare room or you can jump in my bed (American Queen) there'd def be fireworks!! |

Dublin West |
I bake every weekend..
Have been doing it for almost 40 years now and spent some time as a pastry chef in a Dublin hotel when i was in uni to help to feed myself.
Love making fresh pasta as its so easy and the girls seem to be very impressed when i do it and there is nothing like the smell of freshly cooked bread in the house.
And fresh pizza from my diy stone oven in the back garden is a big hit with the neighbours. Amazing what a little knowledge, some flour, yeast, salt, oil and water can do to put a smile on a persons face... |

Malahide & Waterford |
A nice long slowed cooked meal for 8 to 10hrs leaves a lot of time to do other things.....
Followed by melted mars bars in rum topped off with ice cream.
At leat you've had time to do the other things first, cause you won't be able to after a large dose of mars bars n rum. yummy.

I make a carrot cake to die for but my showpiece is a rack of lamb roasted pink and served with a cream, tarragon, white wine and brandy sauce. Gratin potatoes with peas Provençale and roasted veg dressed with a little pesto.
I also make rather a nice seafood chowder. |

My signature dish is pan-seared salmon filets, seasoned with salt, pepper, dill and lemon zest and a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Served with a nice cucumber-salad and either boiled or mashed potatoes.
Mmm... My mouth got watery now! |
