What are these chat rooms people talk about? I use fab on phone so can't see anything! Is it just like the forums?

chat rooms can be good craic at times. made it very easy for myself to get to know some people when came on as a single. Lots of people tend to call it cliquey but so long as ye dont prove to be an absolute idiot everyone is welcomed

Lucan

I went into the chat rooms on my phone a couple of times but it really moves too fast for the phone screen. Gave up on it after a couple of attempts.

the chat rooms are a little overwhelming at times just because the speed it moves I have always got on yes there are rows just like anywhere people interact. as for there being a clique its just the regulars that constantly chat together and know each other for ages

No matter how regular you are in any walk of life its manners to say hello to people

the vast majority actually do that. its usually guys known for being pests that get ignored. keep going in and having the craic rather then moaning about it

Most of us do say hello to people though. I've never seen any new people ignored, unless they went in all guns blazing and started out rude and bolshy.

Not new to the scene at all been here many yrs on and off and same old in chat try to interact and very few say hello, have seen new people in saying hi and no one speaks to them either ...Its not moaning I take it for what it is and chat on other well known sites. Must be hard though for new people to try and chat in there.

Oh your dead right there and I know some like yourself do make the effort to say Hello but think everyone should make an effort when they know people are new

Right, so there are 65 chatters in Ireland room right now. You want all of them to say hello when you enter the room? Do you really think that's feasible?

No because im realistic, and realistically I have seen no one at times not saying hello they just keep chatting......just an observation not an argument, like I said some do make an effort

You have to make the effort to jump into the conversation, like any social situation. Its not like forums, its fast moving sometimes and easy for people to overlook you if they are keeping track of a couple of conversations at once.

I totally understand and would do if I wanted to having been here many times before, its new people that find it more difficult to just jump in within being seen as coming in too brash for want of a better word ......

Have to say it can be hard to get a convo going I always say hi to any one male of fem that enter and say hi but its up to them to then join in and its a hell a lot faster than the fourms so its easy to miss someone

I think of it as wandering into a small local bar,ya know some people ya don't know others.A convo can be across the the table to someone or it can be like joining in on a room full of banter,in the background are the lads who don't join in and are in pm among themselves.

Once you have a silly sense of humour and a bit of imaginatiom you just pitch in to keep the room funny, flirty and tease each other.Taking the pish and slagging is all part of the banter.

Used to be a regular but just got out of the habit, they can be great craic but disagree with the above, my experience was that no matter how mild mannered or nice you were you still hit nights where the crowd simply didn't interact at all with you, so the answer..like a lot of things in fab, is to persevere untill your well known........if ya could be arsed
