What's in a pic...?

Mailed a lady a few weeks back and we had good banter with each other and a good laugh. Both of us were slow to exchange pics initially due to discretion and the amount of pic collectors here.
Anyway, we got to know each other quite well (in as much as two people can get to know each other through the exchange of emails). Ultimately we agreed to meet and obviously agree to exchange pics then.
We both readily agreed that we were not each others type but neither of us found it to be a major issue. What's the harm in meeting for a coffee anyway.
We met, had coffee and more importantly had great craic. Later we arranged to meet for fun and we both had a great time.
I learnt something. Sometimes a pic can hide a beautiful person. |

I can agree with that. I don't think I'm very photogenic at all, and the amount of people who've "gone dark" after i sent a face pic is proof of this. I think I represent myself much better in person and if I get a "thanks but no thanks" when i meet face to face, so be it......we can't be everyones type.....and not everyone takes a good picture! |

Very good point, ive found by going to socials you meet people that you discounted by their face pics on email and in reality they have that certain sex appeal or are just much better looking in person |

agree completely with this but some guys dont help themselves lol,always ask if u arent happy with the pic yourself dont post it as some are really grim,focus on your best bit as everyone is attractive in 1 way or another |

Pics are a simple filtering tool....no effort needed.
Getting to know someone through chat is hard work, takes effort, time. Much easier to dismiss with age, sex, smoker, pic......move on to next ! |

This is why I much prefer to meet people from m&gs or parties .it's difficult to determine atraction online... pics are really only indicators as to if there may be some mutual interest.

Hi all
Great point and a nice thread too! I have one question for you though.... what happens if you decided that you were attracted to the person in the photo but they weren't happy about this? It's not that the individual is terrible looking or anything like that, but just not my type. I'd rather not have to go down the line of blocking them but might have to as they are sending a lot of messages my way...
Any advice?

I think you're asking what if you're not attracted to his pic but he keeps mailing you? If you've tried to politely let him down already but he keeps emailing you, my advice would be to block him. Unfortunately it's a necessary evil. Plenty more lads on here to choose from. |

Completely agree. I'm not photogenic nor am I in any way good looking but like to think when I meet someone face to face I come off better and am attractive to them then.
Likewise I've met people who i've chatted to and only been attracted to them properly in person. |
