When chatting to a potential meet do any of you ever check up on them, for want of a better phrase, by talking to people they have met before?
Or do you just go with your gut and decide yourself? |

I haven't done that and I wouldnt.
It's a bit odd, the verifications should b taken at face value and go with gut.
Surely the person being asked would mention it to the potential meet too?? |

I go with my gut, I read verifications of course but no would never contact previous meets. Unless I thought he was really weird, but then I wouldn't be meeting him  |

I've had people ask my veris about me before they'd even really spoken with me, found that weird.
I would trust my guy normally but if i knew a veri on the persons profile and I was chatting to them I'd ask them what the person is like. I also often ask other single girls I'm friends with for recommendations  |

i had gor chatting to a guy one time everything was going along great and he asked would i meet for a coffee i agreed
he was verified by two ladies so i guessed he would be okay
he cancelled a hour before the meet 
i thought since we where getting on so well id give him a chance but i did mail one of the ladies who gave him the verification to make sure he was genuine
but she could not remember meeting him
so i agreeded to meet him again on another day
and again a hour before meet i got my granny is sick
he did not get a third shot
so just goes to show you just never can tell |

Yeah I had this recently but it was a sick father. Like if you don't want to meet just say!!!

Same here. I tend to go with my gut, I'll check veris and if someone who's opinion I value has left them one, i may mail them to find out more.
But one of the reasons i'll go to as many socials as i can is i can get a better vibe about a person, in person. then i can possibly plan something with them at a later date. |

Yes, going to socials is great!! You get to meet loads of people and you get a feel for what they're like with other people!! Unfortunately one or two slip through your fingers but you hope that you'll meet them at the next party wherever that will be!! |

I wouldnt normally do a background check but like everyone else i have been messed around,like for example u can check the person out but how do u know that it is really telling truth on what the answer is if him or her have an agenda or a falling out,i just do my own thing and go with my own intinct. |

Ill admit if i know anyone pretty well thatthey have met that iI'll ask for general opinion of how they were. I dont want details of how they were in bed, just to know they were genuine and actually show. |

always go with your gut instinct some times you will get it wrong but theres a better chance you will be safe.
I know a few women who network and share warnings/ horror stories and it work great because if we one met a guy and he was a nightmare for what ever reason then they would say oh yeah he did this or that and it gives the others a heads up |
