Jesus I was just watching that report on the abuse mentally disabled residents in a care house are receiving. It's unbelievable that these so called carers could treat those residents so badly. |

Sadly it does go on and the law needs to really do something about this.
There was a documentary on ch4 as well about the same thing.
How can people be so cruel and heartless |

It's totally dreadful, shocking beyond belief.
But the worse things of all will be that the state organization's will all parade out on "it must be stopped, and never happen again" to be honest it will happen again because the laws in this country arnt strong enough.
The care center got the "all clear" from HIQA kinda says it all.....who's watching HIQA?? ....oh yea the HSE.....let's blame someone else.
Remember Lee's Cross??? "It'll never happen again" sickening!!!

It was terrible
And they are suspended WITH PAY!!
WTF?? Why pay people who you have seen were clearly abusive and in fact criminal?
Cameras in all public areas which are monitored would sort out alot of problems. |

Totally appalling and 9 people suspended . on full pay pending an investigation. Full pay if they treated one of my family members that way I'd kill them . The law is totally wrong in this country |

Unfortunately procedures have to be followed and suspension with pay is the way to go as these animals must be dealt with and not seen to be getting off over something trivial.
I'd say by the weekend one of the red top papers will have identified some of them.
Surely someone in the locality recognizes them. |

The biggest problem trying to prosecute these animals is unfortunately the inability of the victims to be regarded as being credible witnesses . . . A second point is the security of pension and entitlement of too many in this country. . . If proven to have committed a serious offence these should be forfeited. . . |

It's gross misconduct they should be fired on the spot with no entitlements , it's there to be seen they have 200 hours of film which proves what happened |

As a parent of a special needs child, I like all other parents in the same situation worry about what the future holds for our kids when we are no longer able to care for them. I know many parents today were considering residential homes for their kids but after tonight they have changed their minds... Simply because of a few bad ones... Prosecution must happen, it's abuse... End of |

This is also my view but as like before they will not the state is afraid, instead of protecting the innocent and weak they will once again have to be seen to follow procedure. suspended with pay sacked on the spot the same as in private sector with no entiltments but if they do that half of daily eirn would suffer the same fate and they won't bite the hand that feeds them |

But it has been seen before where these people get golden hand shakes and "missed out" allowances and full pension entitlements on their departure. . . .

The innocence of kids and being treated like that make me sick |
