the only way to avoid it would be by mentioning the name of the person you are replying to. Or a tagging system.
But I agree with the OP when it comes to endless and unnecessary reply+quote. |

exactly. . I'm very guilty of this... Apologies to those who hate it. .. But it's really hard to know who someone is replying to without it.
