"Doing their job" seems to be a blanket for amnesty these days

If I don't want a meter installed on my property then why can they just carry on regardless?

If sky tv got up onto my roof and set up a tv service I didn't want ,would that be ah they're just "doing their job"

We are already paying for water through various taxes such as motor tax so why should I pay again for it?

Any scab that signs up for this charge is only a fool and will pay highly for it in a few years, their kids and grand kids will also be landed with this debt forever more.

Enough is enough

Most of the water meter installers are working for subbies not directly Irish water they have to go where the work is. The mains are part of the infrastructure and don't belong to the householder

There for they can install what ever they want doesn't mean the householder has to pay

Obviously doing their jobs but their jobs are rightly hated and constitutionly unsound.

When a police man beats you up is he just doing his job? when a soldier murders you is he?

People have jobs, but they also have a social responsibility to obey the constitution and obey trespass laws etc.

If someone does not want them on the property they should not be on it. If their boss orders them to go on it, they should say "no, it's illegal".

Oh grow up!

Are the water meter workers murdering or beating anyone up?

No.

They're installing water meters - which is their job!

And they have every right to do it because despite how much people dislike or disagree with the water tax it's a legal tax and the workers are employed to help with That

The meters are not needed to avoid wastage, the vast majority of the water waste comes from a damaged water infrastructure. The money that was spent on installing the meters could've quite easily gone into fixing the system. Furthermore, Siemens, a company that specializes in water meters offered to install meters for FREE!
