It's imaterial as long as ye invite me.... in fact feck the couples just invite me...

That aside It all depends on what ye define as small I would say and also where ye are holding it. I've been to some great parties with 6 people in a small apartment. But also some great parties with a dozen or more. The venue and those invited are the important parts of the puzzle to get right. If you've a particular couple in mind you could ask for their advice on it as they may have a preference on numbers.

What ever ye end up doing have a great time!!!

whats the square footage of the floor minus any furniture?

Do you have single or double doors.

I'd stay under 30 couples or you might get shut down by th fire inspector.

25 to 30 sounds good alright. I'd suggest you invite more than you want to show up as you usually get last minute cancellations.

Good advice above, for comfort allow 1sq. mtr. per person in social spaces, same in your bed!

Party numbers are up to you as hosts and what you want. Just remember some generally sage party rules

1) invite more than you want to attend. Normally even amongst reliable attendees about 30-40% cancel at the last minute. Seems weird but party hosts will testify to it.

2) invite broadly similar ages / attractiveness levels - dont expect people to change what they are looking for in compatibility just because you oniy invited five couples and only two showed and their not natural matches. A good plan is to talk to couples you already know or have talked to and get suggestions for other attendeees from them.

3) always have more than one bedroom for play - so that nit everyone is forced into the same play space. Some people prefer intimacy even when at a party.

4) have a large social space for non-play. Usually an open kitchen or a lounge area. Have plenty of space to place drinks and plates but dont have large tables etc 'obscuring' the sitting areas, keep it as open plan as possible to allow people to circulate and escape.

5) its your party, pick and invite who you want.

Like yourselves we only have a a 3 bed house and had a party a few weeks ago and had 32 people and trust that number is more than enough, had heating off and windows open to keep the place cool.
