I loved the trilogy, because of the fantastic scenery, the beautiful soundtrack and all the fantasy creatures. But best film? Definitely not. In my opinion it was badly acted by most of the cast, and also there were quite a few mistakes throughout. But to pass a few hours with family and forget about reality......excellent |

The books were fantastic and Jackson did a fantastic job,I love middle earth and a Tolkien nerd too,but im all grown up now and Martin and The Game of Thrones has taken it up to a new level completely...Every episode of that us like a film..fantastic!!!  |

Lord of the rings is a fantastic trilogy for any generation but greatest films ever. In my mad film buff opinion no.... That honour foes to star wars or the first two godfather movies (third was waaaaayyyyyy too far fetched for me) |

I love those films, love love love them. Never get old, no matter how many times I watch them, kinda like Game of Thrones now. Amazing! But don't think they're the best films ever |

No, they are not the best ever. I had a few questions about the films and was told the questions I had are answered in the book.
A lot of people who think the lord of the rings is amazing, have watched the film and have filled in the gaps in the movie themselves without thinking.
I think they are good, but to be the best movie ever it has to stand on its own without the books and lord of the rings does not. |
