The French are viewed as "dicky", rude/arrogant.

They are rude people, but you have to know they are only rude to people thy do not view as friends/family.

When you are in France everyone is rude to eveyone. Take it with a pinch of salt and nothing personal.

In Ireland they are usually more friendly, they go with the flow, when in Rome. We attract the more friendly french people too.

The French are fantastic swingers, far higher percentage of them engage in the lifestyle than british / irish.. In those environments they are only 'dicky' when the lady asks them to be.

Not rude just very forthright. Say what they think without sugarcoating their words. Us (well most) Irish like to plamase.

The French are very misunderstood.

They can seem a little cold to strangers, however family, friends and hospitality are top priorities in life - if you are taken under their wing you'll be treated like royalty.

Also, It is unfair to judge by the attitude of, say, Parisian waiters: they have had years of bullshit from people who don't have the manners to learn even a few words of their language or show any manners at all, and are pretty tired of tourists as a result.
