Hi folks,

I know most of you are savvy enough not to hand out your phone number willy-nilly.

Just for your own security note that now if you have someone in your phone book and you have FB messenger, the two sync.

I just went to send a message to a friend on FB messenger and I saw Joe Bloggs. I thought I don't know anyone by that name. When I clicked through to their profile I realised it was someone from here.

Even though you might not have saved their number, if they've saved yours they *could* find you. Only recently there was a thread advising keeping the two networks seperate.

Thought I would give you all a heads up.

Happy almost weekend

I deleted Facebook messenger for this very reason. I have settings organised so my profile cannot be found via my number so I'm not sure if I still show up

Any app you download has the potential to access all information and sync with all your contacts on your mobile device. Read what your agreeing to when downloading them. They don't hide this information.

It amazes me as well how many use the same email address for fab stuff as facebook, it takes two seconds to set up another email

Just don't sync your phone number with facebook, as long as you don't sync then it shouldn't join the two together. We have the email I normally use for everyday life against fab but nobody from fab has it.
