How much do you pay a babysitter??? My first time using a babysitter later and I'm wondering how much she should get.don't want to insult the girl by offering her too little....  |

Luckily I don't have that my oldest is nearly 18 so she does it
That if she not doing anything.
But I have to pay her. She don't look after her siblings for love.
I was at a wedding a couple of weeks ago and she wanted €50

Maybe you can think of other ways to pay her, of course it could be a male babysitter, why is it always assumed it is just a "girl thing" to babysit? If it were a lad, then am sure you could find ways to "pay" LOL  |

Not so sad as other things, so don't be so down on yourself. A fiver an hour is totally insulting, if you don't mind me saying, like I said before, a tenner is more like it. No one would do it for a fiver. I would do it for free with many some extra benefits thrown in LMFAO  |

I've never had to pay for a baby sitter, and at ten euro an hour i wouldn't have been able to go out and pay a sitter. My daughter gets around forty euro for a seven hour stint. Don't think a child should get more than minimum wage for an evening job. A tenner an hour is way too much IMO |

Maybe ask her what she usually gets paid, and take it from there. Like kitty said, I used to babysit when I was a teenager and I got paid in punts and it was usually around 6-10 an hour, people paid me more after midnight. oh and they always left out sweets and drinks too  |

I have asked her what she normally gets and she said €20from 9-2 I'm going for a couple of hours but I will give the 20 anyway.thanks everyone that commented appropriately....oh and the sweets and drinks are a must....lol |

My sitter works in a creche and it's 10 blips an hour.
she says it's the going rate and all the girls charge this.

Ya my mate charges that but she has the qualifications and it's her livelihood. Different then a 15yr old earning a bit of pocket money.

I babysit occasionally and get 100e for 4/5 hours but there's 3 kids and I know the family really well. Plus they pay for my taxi home o

I use to get 50 pound for babysitting years ago but it was always for a group of kids and the mothers use to chip in with each other I use hav more fun gettin loads of free junk and watchin Disney films all night but anyone that watches my kids for me now I'd pay ten an hour my mam normally watches them for me tho so don't hav to pay her |

Right...so its like this....I'm locked right now. She's just left and got paid €25 plus the taxi fare home paid for. Thank god in this situation for predictive text |
