For the last 2 to 3 years my friends and I arrange a night away for my birthday. Now its in December and know family commitments are high but every year they all slowly pull out. Guest what? They've done it again this year. Now not sure what to do. Would love to go to London for 2 days but it means going by myself. Now normally that wouldn't be a problem. Love heading away by myself....always find company.
But its my birthday and just think it might be abit sad to go then. Long weekend booked off already. What should I do? |

Aww toxic. . That's a pretty shitty thing for friends to do! ! If they are going to struggle to make it why arrange it. . Surely it would be better to arrange it when everyone can.... even if it's not at the actual time of your birthday. We do this for my friend as her birthday a few days before xmas.. We have a big girls night out end of Jan.. When everyone's bored and fed up. It's so good to have it to look forward to!
Have a fab party instead! !

Why not see this as an opportunity to do something you have never done before but have always wanted to try. Birthdays are not just a day but a celebration of leaving the womb and becoming your own person. Have fun whatever you decide and look back for the rest of the year and smile at the memory. |

That's so annoying when people don't fully commit, and you deserve better. I know you enjoy time on your own, but that shouldn't be an excuse for people to cop out and let you down.
Maybe you should look to others that value your wonderful company, would appreciate getting an invite to your weekend, and would therefore happily commit to going. what about some of your fab girlfriends? X
