Private gallery hacked

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

Hi there guys, just to give you the heads up... Our private gallery was hacked last night. A couple got into it as our 'friends' without our premission or the fact that they were NOT friends... I told admin but I'm not sure what they can do. But I was under the impression that we had some form of privacy. Just be careful of face pics.

Marian.

Interesting, i'm guessing that FAB don't have the finances to invest in high end cyber security. Still how did you know the pics were viewed ?

Oh crap! How did that happen! I feel like deleting all mine! Thanks for letting us all know about it! I hope admin find out who did it!

I have no proof if they viewed them or not but it would seem pointless not to after going to the trouble of hacking.

I've already deleted all face pics from account for the very reason that this may happen..If a person asks for a face pic i would upload and then delete again..safer i think that way..but thanks again for the warning between this and bullying today is not a good day

hi rosebud....they winked at us and when I went in to look it said they were our friends but we hadn't invited them or even winked at them...they just showed up on our friends list thus getting access to our pics...

Simple solution, put the pics on 'private' instead of 'friend' access

Yeah did that, put any pics with face in on private and blocked them. Oh and reported them to admin.. Case closed, this is just a warning to others, that's all folk.

I never have face pics in friends. ... and I usually limit my friends to people I have actually met and trust tbh....it offends a few but most people are ok with it. .. If they're not it would kinda tell me they're not my type of person.

I usually like to chat to them for a while first before accepting friend invites! Some people just want to be friends with u just to see the photos!

Technically that isn't possible, unless there's been a problem with the site. Are you sure you werent already friends?

No people.. We were not , i repeat, not friends... That is why I'm posting this warning.... It may have been a glitch or something. I'm just passing this on for those who would have a problem with their pics going to non friends. To be honest I'm not sure why they bothered, there's lots of people with face pics on here... But that's people for ye.. Hoo Hum...

We've had this... But I figured it out I think. If you send someone a friend request, and they don't accept immediately, and then a couple of months later they accept or send YOU a friend request then the are added to your friends list. I'm not saying that is what happened here.. But it happened to us before, and was due to a very old friend request.

They could already be friends but changed their profile name - no?

Sounds like one half of a couple accepted or sent a friend invite, then forgot to delete the other profile from their friends list once they’d finished having a perv

99.99% of all "hacking" isnt some computer nerd hacking into the mainframe to your data, but you either being tricked, or unknowingly sharing your information.

In these cases, its most likely you accidentally hit the accept button.
