Ok guys...its fast approaching and I always go around introducing myself and asking who's who...wondering if anyone does the same? Are some too shy...especially newbies.. let's all be extra friendly this Saturday night  |

I always try to mingle. There's always people I miss but there's no way around that other than butting into people's conversations and being generally rude etc and that's not how I roll! come say hi if ye see me! |

For any of the first timers who are nervous going, its normal to feel apprehensive before a social, even the people who have been before feel it, I include myself, even couples feel it.
Your not alone!
Its always good to meet for a drink first and it helps to arrive in tandem, my advice is to try get there early, its so much easier to arrive when its empty than it is when its full. When its empty everyone else who arrives comes to you to say hello, when its full its a little harder to mingle as most people are in conversation.
Just remember its a social, there are no expectations, it's just a great occasion to put a face to the names on here, so set up your ducks and meet someone either male or female first if you can and arrive together. Even after 5/6 socials I still get the butterflies, and the butterflies add to the excitement for me. |

me to! ! I walked in on my own. .. Having only met one person that was there for coffee (but he is a wee love) and been talking to mr hardy. .. It was nerve wracking! ! But met my fab besties and they were all so nice to me and made me feel welcome ..looking forward to meeting everyone. . It's lovely when you chat away in the forum and then get to meet the people... love it

Newbies, don't worry! Yes, there'll be nervousness but it adds to the fun of the whole night. In my experience, people from this site are very friendly and welcoming so you'll meet people and get to know them in no time.
We still get the jitters every time but once you're settled in the place, the jitters will dissipate!
Just try to relax and enjoy yourselves! There is NO pressure so just go with the flow
I'll be the one with the highest shoes in the place, no doubt. (Shoes are my thing!) No idea what I'm wearing with the shoes, I'll decide that a couple of hours before the M&G!!
